Deciding it had been far too long since his last visit to the place, Croos ventured casually through the gates of the Unknown. He'd left Alice at home, though he wasn't worried about her. She knew the rules, and generally she did well to follow them. She even had a friend now, which made him less worried. His mind wandered to that little white dragon creature called Kami. He was sure he'd seen something like it in the Unknown once or twice before, only a bit bigger. He remembered because he only saw those creatures on days when there was supposed to be a full moon. They usually followed him around for a bit, as if they were studying him. They usually ran away at the first hint of danger though. Which was usually when Cross turned his gaze on them for more than a few seconds. He didn't mind the things following him around, it's not like they attacked him or anything, but they put his mind on edge. Even more so than usual. Those were the only creatures he'd encountered that followed him around without an attempt at contact. As he wandered, Cross decided that today he was going to stay on the path that he'd discovered to be 'safe', unchanging. He didn't feel like getting lost today.

(And since it wouldn't allow me to dice roll on my first post...I hope it's okay that I do one of each.)

Cross's breath lit the air in front of him as he sighed. Even though it was summer outside the Unknown, it was cool inside. He'd been walking for nearly an hour and a half now and he'd come across no sign of anything that could pose a challenge. This had never happened before. Not only was he not coming across anything to pose a challenge, the Unknown seemed unusually quiet today. Was something going on? Something strange in a realm where nothing was normal? The black winged messanger looked around idly. He was getting bored of walking in this silence. He kicked a stick, which rustled a couple leaves on the ground. That would do for now. All he'd needed was a break from the silence. Now he could continue on until he ran into something.

'Unknown Monsters' :

The summoner held a small grin upon her face as she spotted a male crossing through her territory. Raising her hand to the path in front of him, she summoned a monster. It appeared off in the bushes, so it could not be spotted.

'Summoner's Creatures' :

The summoner smiled with delight as not one, but three Sobek's appeared. They hide away in the pushes as silent as mice on christmas eve, just awaiting Cross to come across their path. They could hardly wait to rip apart the man who was walking their way. Each one stayed low to the ground, their claws digging into the dirt. They already had an attack strategy.

Cross walked on along what he remembered to be the safe path. He was getting irritated now. Not a single creature had shown up. And Cross didn't usually get irritated either. In fact, he never usually showed emotion at all. At that moment he decided. If he didn't run into anything in the next half hour, he was going to turn around and go home for the day. And hopefully run into something on the way back. Although, there was always that little issue of accidentally straying from the path while fighting. That had happened once before. Taking out one of his thin silver knives, Cross examined it idly. It was still razor sharp, as he hadn't gotten to use it in a while. He wondered if the Stealth would need some help in rebuilding. He could use a job to pass the time.

As Cross neared them, the Sobek's divided. One stayed put, the other moved farther along the path, and another approached from behind. The one following behind Cross attacked first. It's large hands extended so that it could claw at the black haired man. It growled as it did so. A split second after another came diving at Cross's side. The one up ahead stayed put. It wasn't it's time to reveal itself.

Cross stopped walking as he heard movement. The bushes wavering, and feet padding. Well it was about damn time. He heard the one behind before he saw it, so he turned to face it and jumped back. However, the one that came for his side, Cross hadn't expected, so he was late in dodging it. Whereas it probably would've broken his ribs with that swipe, it only left a semi-deep cut in his side. Great. Already injured, he thought. Well, there was no time to slow down at the start. But Cross had his suspicions. These creatures had devised a plan to attack him from behind and from his side. A plan. Cross would be on his guard for more of them to Soda out. Taking out a few more of his knives, he threw two at each of the creatures. First test, speed and reflexes. Second test, damage factor. Third test, ranged combat. Fourth test, close range combat. That was how Cross worked. Figure out weaknesses and use that against them. The last test would be based on all the other tests. Fifth test, elemental factor.

Both creatures evaded the knives and started forward in sync. They're job at the moment was to drive the man of of Silence's Path. The Guardian of the Unknown had granted travelers one path that allowed safe travel throughout the Unknown, if you weren't attacked by monsters that was. If they could get Cross to stray from the path, then he'd lose his way and not be able to flee back to the entrance. The summoner watched from a far in a tree, kicking her legs back and forth. She was bored. Not much was happening.

Alright. So the creatures were fast. Which meant that long ranged combat would have to be comprised of sneak attacks, but against two opponents that wouldn't work. Now Cross just had to damage one of them at least, to see if they had strong points or weak points. It seemed that they were smart as well. Even though they looked about as dumb as a rock. It seemed that the creatures were trying to make him back up. Which meant Cross was going to do the opposite. Starting forward, Cross weaved as he went, to confuse them a bit. His wings were still folded behind his back. He wouldn't use them just yet. Hell, who knew, he might not have needed them at all for this fight. He didn't often do aerial maneuvers. When he got close enough to the creatures, he ducked to the side and spun swiftly around one of them, moving to plant a kunai in it's back. The kunai had an oil bomb attached to it. The plan was that it would turn it's back to it's partner in an attempt to come at Cross, and the bomb would go off, drenching both of them in oil. At least, that was the plan.

Both creatures didn't understand what was going on when Cross begin to weave. Each one looked highly annoyed that Cross had messed up their plan, but that was fine. The third would recalculate the plan and end this. When the kunai was planted in the back of one of them, it hissed like a snake and turned to get at Cross, but it didn't turn it's back towards it's allie. Instead it broke off to the side to come back at Cross's side. The other who had not been hit dove at Cross's leg. The hidden Sobek had seen the change in plans and had taken to the trees so it could attack from above. Steadying itself on the branches, it dropped like a feather despite it's size.

So, it's armor could be pierced then. If you could even call it armor. That was good then. Cross always had trouble with armored creatures of the Unknown. Like that hideous slug creature he'd run into once before. But this was different. These creatures were fast, and there were two of them, possibly more. When the one came at his side, Cross ducked past it and planted a bomb tag on it's chest, but didn't detonate it just yet. Instead, he jumped back and threw more knives at the one that had dove for his leg. He was still unaware of the third one that just dropped from the tree behind him.

It was at that very moment when Cross jumped back that third caught him in a bear hug grip. It's digestive saliva, dripping from it's mouth as it prepared to bit down on Cross's head. The other two were recovering from Cross's assaults. When they'd managed to remove the weapons from their skin they went for the black haired man. Claws extended so they could tear him to tiny little pieces.

Cross's eyes widened when he was caught from behind. Well that wasn't good. Cross tried to struggle to get away for a moment before he remembered the tag he'd placed on the one. As well as the oil bomb that was on it's back. When what felt like acid dripped onto Cross's shoulder, he detonated the bomb tag, which, mixed with the oil bomb, created a huge explosion, blowing one of the creatures to bits, and hopefully causing a distraction. With that in mind, Cross forced his wings out, to push the creature behind him backwards so that he could get away. Having been at such close range, the blast had also scorched Cross a little as well, but at least he hadn't had his head bitten clean off.

The creature with the bomb on his back never saw what hit him. The other on the other hand was pushed away by Cross's wings, which sort of kept him from getting burned, while the one that had been going for Cross's legs earlier was blown across the forest into some bushes. The summoner looked displeased. The fight was good, but this man, this thing that had trespassed on her territory was killing her previous summonings! She was ever so tempted to summon another creature to make this man regret his decisions. Instead of acting out of anger, she remained where she sat and watched. She still had two summonings left. Both creatures recovered and looked up at the flying man. Nodding to one another they separated and begin to climb the trees, catching Cross in the middle so they could keep an eye on them.

Felix Kuriyama hadn't been to the Unknown for a very long time. Normally on his days off he would sleep or work out, but today he was taking a different approach. He decided to see what was happening her in the Unknown. Clearly not much. The place was practically dead. Felix smirked. "Can't say I'm disappointed. I wasn't exactly itching for a fight anyway." Felix yawned and continued forward on the pointless journey through the Unknown because he didn't know his way back, because unlike some people who enjoyed coming here for training, he didn't know about the safe path. When he heard an explosion he turned and headed that way. "Just when I was starting to get bored," he said with a smirk. What Felix found was a nasty little scene. Something green was splattered all over the forest floor and it wasn't grass. And when he looked up he saw what looked like a Dark Angel. "This is why I need more sleep, hallucinations are clear signs of sleep deprivation." His suspicions were however wiped away when he saw two green lizards climbing the tree at high rate speeds. Felix smirked. He couldn't help himself. He started up a tree and crossed over when he passed the lizards. They were fast, but he was a former Stealth Ninja, and Stealth Ninja never lost their touch. Felix came down with a powerful kick on of the heads and then shot to the opposite tree and planted his knee in the other's throat. Landing on a branch and watching the creatures fall to the earth, Felix looked at the man flying above him. "Sorry if I interrupted you're fight, I just couldn't help myself. It was just set up so perfectly." The silver haired ninja gave a dangerous grinned.

Cross watched as the lizards climbed up towards him, starting a jutsu, only to see another person coming and kicking the lizards to the earth. The dark angel blinked and looked at the silver haired individual as he spoke. He raised an eyebrow and didn't move from where he was, except to flap his wings now and then to stay alift. "Hm. Are you another creature of the Unknown?" What a stupid question that was. "I'd hate to kill a passerby." No emotion in his voice, as it usually was with Cross. There was none on his face either. But this guy had appeared out of nowhere. What else could he be but a creature of the Unknown? Of course, Cross was sure that he himself looked more like something that would dwell here. While the creatures were down, Cross took out a couple knives to throw at them, but stopped as he saw another creature on a tree not too far off. A girl. A white haired girl. And she was dressed in the strangest clothes. Cross would deal with her later if there was a reason to. First he had to take care of those damn lizards.

Felix's blue eyes held a bit of amusement. Had this guy just asked him if he was creature of the Unknown. "Says the guy with wings sprouting out of his back," Felix commented. The blue eyed ninja looked down at the lizards. "And I assure you, you wouldn't have to worry about killing me." Felix wondered why the guy sounded so dead. There was nothing in his facial expression or his voice to indicate that he was human. This was a first for the Immortal. A chance encounter, almost like Silence. Felix grinned at the thought. That encounter hadn't gone over so well. Had he not been trying to save Serenity from herself, that little incident wouldn't have happened. Felix shook his head. Women were always distractions and it seemed like there was one not to far off that had caught the other guy's attention. "Looks like trouble. I may not be on of them, but she definitely is."

Cross almost smiled at the silver haired guy's smart remark. "Fair enough," he replied, whipping the knives down at the lizards while he still had the chance. "I suppose I should give you a brief thanks for knocking those things down for me," he said casually. Cross didn't normally talk so much, but whatever. He glanced to the girl again when the silver haired guy mentioned her. "I'll get her later." Cross wasn't too worried. Clearly she'd been watching him fight, but he wondered if she knew he'd noticed her. Even more importantly, he wondered if she herself could fight. Folding his wings, Cross dropped to the ground and landed purposely on a knee and a hand to break his fall, so that he didn't break his legs instead. Only a moment later did Cross rise to his feet to look for the lizards.

She knew she'd been spotted. The silver haired man had ruined it all. First the winged man had ruined her fun and now this new guy. They would pay. And they'd hurt her lizards. She continuously kicked her legs back and forth, but as she did so, she summoned yet another summoning. The lizards on the other hand were trying to recover when they were hit with the knives. Hissing in pain they got up as Cross came down. They had to make a change of plans. Attacking as a team had failed, but as individuals, they could do some damage. Hissing one went forward for an attack. His claws outstretched. The other stayed put.

Felix shrugged. "It's not necessary," he told Cross in reference to the thanks. Felix didn't need thank you's or sorry's. Standing up and steadying himself on the branch he watched Cross go down to finish what he'd started with the lizards. Felix rubbed the back of his head. "Guess I'll head off then, no point in st-" Felix was cut off as something slammed into him with immense force, causing him to fly into the next tree, where he fell to the ground with a thud. Daze and confused he looked up. Nothing was there. What he didn't know was that the Forest Guardian was blending in with the trees. "Sleep deprived my ass," he grumbled as he got up. His silver hair covering his blue eyes. He'd burn this place to the ground.
