Kazuya had a rough time convincing the Council to pass this one through. It was risky, what Kazuya was about to do, and he was nervous about it as well. But after Kai had left, Kazuya had done nothing but considered options for this. It would be better to send Kymir, where he'd be protected by family, than to send a lone ANBU, where he'd have no backup. But to send a kid on a mission like this...

Kazuya paced the parlor of his home, running a hand through his hair. His black jacket with the Death Kage's insignia on it was tossed carelessly over the back of the couch. He was waiting for Kymir to get home so that he could brief the kid on his new mission, but everything was still running through his head. All the dangers and possibilities of things going wrong. Kymir was only a genin, but that's part of what made the plan so perfect. Who would suspect a genin to be doing anything other than visiting family?

Kymir had made several visit to places within the village. At the moment he was in the back alley, which was forbidden to most kids, but Kymir was a wolf. He could handle himself. Raised as a fighting dog, he'd seen it all, in the eyes of a wolf that was. Slinging his bag over his shoulder he nodded to the guy who'd just handed him a brown paper bag. "Deliver it safely." Kymir nodded and headed off across the village. He dropped the bag off at a crummy old townhouse and headed for home. His work was done for the day. Heading home, he stopped and picked up a Butterfinger as a snack. Once he got home he was halfway through the candy bar. Kymir opened the door and started for his room. He'd made it just in time to catch the weekly movie special.

Kazuya looked to the door when Kymir came in and headed for his room. "Hey, Kymir," he said, ceasing his pacing. "I gotta talk to you," he said. The kid seemed in a well enough mood. That was good. Though Kazuya was sure that getting a mission like this would put Kymir in an even better mood. "I have a mission for you."

Kymir stopped mid-step. He didn't even know Kazuya was home. "One moment," he said. He went to his room and discarded his bag on the bed, kicked off his shoes and then went back to Kazuya. "Yeah, what's up?" He asked casually. "Why are you home? I thought you were at the Kage's Office working on paperwork and other lame junk like that." Being in a good mood didn't mean he couldn't still be rude. It was in his nature after all. He put his hands in his pockets and peered up at the black haired kage.

Kazuya nodded when Kymir said one moment. He couldn't help but crack a smile when Kymir asked why he wasn't at the office. "Because, like I said, I have a mission to give you." He nodded to the couch. "Sit down. This may take a few moments." Despite being at home, he was still in Kage mode right now. "Your mission...well, you'll be visiting your family in the Snow for a while," he told Kymir. Kazuya waited for whatever questions might come out of Kymir's mouth. The last time he'd asked if the kid wanted to stay with family, Kymir assumed he'd been trying to get rid of him. But this time it had a mission label on it.

Kymir looked at Kazuya with suspicion. "Wait, this is a joke right? My mission is to go visit family? I don't like those people." Kymir searched Kazuya's face for some sign that this was a joke. This wasn't funny. "Give the mission to someone else." For one, he didn't like Kai. She was a spoiled brat that lived the high life and though everything was butterflies and rainbows. Two, Takashi was his sensei, and he was not living with him. Kazuya had once tried to pass him off to the guy and that had went over real well. He was not doing this mission.

Kazuya knew this would happen. "Kymir, visiting family is going to be your cover story. That's not all I want you to be doing there." He took a moment, then habitually took a look towards the window before sitting down as well. "There's been word around that anyone who speaks out against the Snow Kage, or the war that just happened with the Stealth, has been disappearing. That the citizens of the Snow Valley are afraid that if they move away, they'll be hunted down. This is your mission Kymir. If Micah is becoming a tyrant, I wanna know about it so something can be done before it gets too late. I want you to go there under the pretense of visiting family and listen to rumors, anything the wind tells you. I want Kai and Takashi kept in the dark about this too. I'll give Takashi a call and let him know you're there to visit for a while, and inquire as to whether or not you can stay there." He paused. "Will you take that as a mission?"

Maybe that had gotten his attention, but he still didn't like it. "How long will I be stuck over there," he asked with a groan. "I mean, the mission sounds really cool, I'll be a spy, but the cover up sucks. Kai doesn't like me, and I don't like her. So why would I go visiting them?" He asked. "It'd be weird. What are you going to say, that I need to spend time with my family?" He asked. "This isn't a summer vacation you know..." Kymir pulled his hands from his pockets and crossed them over his chest. "If this is your way of getting rid of me, then I get it. I don't care, I'm trying to get away anyway. I told you I'd be leaving in the next few weeks. And if this is real, why should you care what happens to the Snow? Didn't they attack the Stealth for no reason?"

"Maybe a month, maybe more," he said in response to Kymir's question. "And you're the only one I know of with family in the Snow, and if you must know, I actually think you do need to spend a bit of time with them now and again. You might not like family, but the fact remains that you do have one." He took a breath, but then rolled his eyes as Kymir said if this was his way of getting rid of him. "If I wanted to get rid of you, I would have taken smaller measures than such a large scale mission." He looked to Kymir when the boy asked why should he care what happens to the Snow. "There was a reason behind it. Something happened between the Kages, and what Micah did was out of revenge for that. However," he started. "Something like that shouldn't carry on to the inside of his village. There's no reason his villagers should be afraid of leaving. That means, something else is going on with the Kage. It's a possibility that the attack on the Stealth was part of something much bigger." He shouldn't have been talking to Kymir about this. "But I don't know that yet. I don't want to make assumptions without facts. We just got out of a war, and I don't want to bring this village into another one. That's what this mission is for Kymir. Do you get it?"

Kymir's yellow eyes shinned. Finally, something awesome. "Why didn't you say so before?" He asked. "I would have agreed sooner." Even if he did have to deal with Kai and Takashi. "Wait a minute. What do you mean it was out of revenge?" He asked. "Kages argue? I thought you guys had this big treaty or something." Kymir took a seat on the couch and looked at him carefully. "What motive would he have to come here though?" He asked. "We haven't done anything to him." He then paused. "Did you say something to him the reason you're worried?" He asked. Kymir leaned forward. "Anyway, I'm glad you trust me enough to give me such an important mission," he sat back. "I won't let you down." This was going to be sweet.

Kazuya nodded when Kymir asked that it was out of revenge, then smiled when the white haired boy asked that Kage's argue, but it faded when he asked about the treaties. "The treaty between the Stealth and the Snow has been broken for a while now. Micah broke the treaty. That's what I'm worried about." Kazuya sighed then sat back on the couch. "I shouldn't be letting this much slip," he muttered, shaking his head. If there was one thing you had to be good at as a Kage, it was keeping secrets. Kazuya wasn't good at that. He smiled when Kymir said he wouldn't let him down. "I sure hope not," he joked lightly. Now he just had to call Takashi.

Man, Kages are crazy. Especially this Micah guy. Kymir tugged at his shorts. "Well, I'm tired, so I'm going to go take a nap or something," he said awkwardly. Sliding off the couch he went off towards his room. "Kaz, what's for dinner?" He asked. Kymir didn't really want take out, but he didn't want any bad cooking either. He'd been gone for so long he'd forgotten if Kazuya could cook.

Kazuya nodded when Kymir said that he was tired and was going to take a nap. Kazuya got up and stretched. He didn't have much time to sleep anymore, and anytime he did, he usually curled up on the floor of his room in his wolf form. He was getting sick of staying in his human form so much. "I'm making chicken," he said. "Probably corn too." He was tired too, now that he thought about it. But it was getting late, so dinner came first. "I'll call you down when it's done," he said, going towards the kitchen.

Kymir stopped at the door. Chicken. He swore that every time he ate chicken it reminded him that he was a wolf. Almost a wild animal. "Hey Kaz, we should go wild chicken hunting one day," he called with a smirk. "Stop bundling up the wolf and just hunt for a change." Kymir didn't see the point in hiding what he was. If people didn't like it then they could shove it. He was his own person and he was not ashamed to admit it. Yawning he opened his door. He still couldn't believe that he'd been given a mission, something so important. Wait until he told Tyson and Adrian.

Kazuya looked to where Kymir's voice was coming from as the kid called his name. A small grin passed over Kazuya's face at the suggestion. "That's actually a good idea. We'll go sometime before you have to leave for your mission. How's that sound?" he asked. He was trying not to sound too excited for it. His wolf side really was dying to be let loose. Since he'd come to terms with it long ago, it wasn't an issue to go for a run every now and again. His vampire side however, was a different story entirely. Turning, Kazuya took a pan out, and started on getting things ready for dinner.
