Jerimiah sat against tree, his entire being ached as he remembered the accident that happened three nights ago. He flinched as he remembered how he'd bitten Kazuya in defense because he'd been pinned and the words that had been exhanged. Exspecially his last few. 'I remembered the warmth of my mother and the kindness of my father, but you wouldn't know that would you. You were created.' Jerimiah sighed and turned to the side incase he decided he needed to puke again. "What did I do in order for this to happen. Being a vampire is a curse."

Jerimiah closed his eyes and gave a silent scream. Everything hurt, whether it was physical or emtion. It all just hurt. Everything around him was pain. He opened his eyes and folded over. He smelled blood, but where was it coming from. He tried to focus enough to see where it was coming from, but to his surprise it came from himself. He raised his hand to feel blood coming from his mouth. He was bleeding? Internally? Jerimaih closed his eyes. "It's just myself hallucinating again," Jerimiah said but when he opened his eyes it was still there. He started to shake with fear. Why was this happening, what had he done. Was this after effects? No...that should have happened three days ago, this was just...

Jerimiah didn't get a chance to finsih his thoughts because someone was approaching. He quickly swallowed what blood was coming up and wiped his mouth. Then he sat up and regained his composure. How would he deal with someone in this condition. He didn't want to hurt anyone, not anymore.

I had just gotten from training with Miyozashi my older brother and was heading home when I ntoiced that something was farther down the path. I raised my ahnd to my head to block the sun, but still I couldn't tell what it was. "Hmm." I started forward until I got in range to see a guy not much younger than my brother who was twenty-one. I walked closer, but with caution as my mother always warned me but then stopped. He's got it too...that aura..., I thought as I reached into my backpack for my gun. This guy was a wolf, no he was more than a wolf, he was vampire too! A mixed breed. "You," I said trying to get over my fascination. "Who are you," I said as I got my gun out pulled off the safety because mother thought I'd shoot myself and then aimed right at his chest.

Kazuya walked through the open, obvious exhaustion showing in his eyes. He'd barely been able to sleep the past few days. He'd been bitten by other wolves, but....something about being bitten by his own kind made him feel sick. His shoulder was mostly healed. Now it was just a few small cuts where the teeth marks had been. He hated that he'd healed so fast, it reminded him of what he was. Neither hybrid or human would heal as fast as an Ersatz would've. Kazuya didn't notice Jerimiah's scent when he was walking, at least, not until he'd smelled his blood. Kazuya looked around. He knew that Jerimiah had told him to leave him alone, but what if the kid was in some kind of trouble? Kazuya picked up his pace a little, but then stopped when he saw Jerimiah sitting against a tree and that girl from the other day approaching him. Kazuya looked at the girl, who had a gun to Jerimiah's chest. Kazuya's eyes widened slightly as he quickly ran to the girl, twisting the arm with the gun in it to the side so that she'd drop the gun. He glared at her. "Don't you dare point that thing at any of my hybrids ever again, you got that?" he said with a slight growl.

Jerimiah looked up at the girl. She had called him to attention and pulled a gun out on jhim and was aiming it directly at him. Jerimiah tensed. Was this kid trying to kill him? He shook his head. "I'm Jerimiah." He said. "Who are you." He stood up dusting himself off and looking at the girl. He took a step forward. He was losing it. He could feel it. The scent of his blood had triggered his other side. He felt his teeth turn to fangs and his eyes were no longer red, but now black.

Just when he was about to end her he saw Kazuya. "Kazuya..." He said quietly.He narrowed his eyes. Didn't he tell Kazuya to leave him alone. He looked at the girl to see her reaction and then back to Kazuya. "Why are you here," he asked, though he should ahve been more thankful,but right now wasn't the time.

I jumped back as someone grabbed my arm. They'd come from nowhere. I looked up and saw Kazuya. That guy from the other day. He'd been a Hybrid also, but I'd missed my chance to kill him, but today I could. I dropped the gun and snatched my hand away from him. Who did he think he was? I back away and pulled my back up gun. "Back off!" I snapped. I was no longer sure who I should be aiming at. The guy with the fangs who said his name was Jerimiah or the guy who had grabbed my arm who's name was Kazuya. I was starting to get scared. I was outnumbered. I decided I'd fight it out. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a kunai. Kazuya's aura was stronger than Jerimiah so I'd take Kazuya out first. I aimed at Kazuya and shot one round off and then turned and threw the kunai and Jerimiah with full force.

Kazuya figured that Jerimiah would still want Kazuya to leave him alone. But that didn't matter, because itseemed to Kazuya that Jerimiah had already started to change. Ignoring Jerimiah's question, Kazuya looked to Kitsra. She was outnumbered, but that could soon change if Jerimiah lost control. Then it'd be everyone for themselves, but Kazuya wouldn't let that happen. Kazuya's eyes widened as the girl pointed the gun at him and fired. Kazuya tried to move, but he wasn't near fast enough to dodge a bullet, especially in his exhausted state. The bullet hit him dead in the chest. Standing in place, Kazuya blacked out a few seconds, but the pain of the shot brought him back to reality. Kazuya grabbed his chest where the bullet'd hit. Flinching, Kazuya glared at Kitsra and let out a small growl. "You just made a big mistake girl..." Already Kazuya's breath was slightly labored. Kazuya's eyes slowly changed to yellow, and he himself changed into a large black wolf, which growled at Kitsra. Kazuya jumped at her, aiming to bite her arm which held the gun. He wouldn't let her use it again if he could help it.

Jerimiah looked at the girl. She hadn't introduced herself but she looked as if she was fully prepared to kill. He swallowed. Who was she and what exactly did she want with him. He tried to think back but he had no memories of this girl who wanted to take his life. That's when it struck him. Her material was the material of an assassin, which meant she was a hunter. He balled up his fist and gave a low growl. He then stepped back as she pulled out a back up gun after Kazuya had made her release the other one.

This fight was getting serious. He backed away some more. He had a feeling that this would only get worser. He was starting to loose control and the fact that this girl wanted to kill him was only making him more edgy. His eyes glowed. He didn't want to kill her, he didn't want to kill anyone, but what else could he do. He didn't have time to think as he heard a gunfire sound off and he saw Kazuya flinched. He'd been hit. Then the next moment a wolf was standing in his place and before that Jerimiah was dodging a kunai which missed him by near inches. His eyes slightly widened. The scent was drifting again. Why now? Jerimiah folded over. His chest tightened and he gave a small cry.

Then it was over and he collasped. The moment he rose was a clear signal he'd compeltely lost it. Soon there was just a golden-brown wolf. His black eyes flashed with a bit of humor and the thrill of a soon to be girl. Suddenly his paws were moving him forward at a quick speed until he launched himself into the air and bared fangs to attack. The human side was gone, unconsious, and unaware of what was going on.

I backed away as I saw what was coming next. Kazuya had just turned into a wolf and was coming for me, but that wasn't all. The other guy, Jerimiah, had also turned to a wolf. He looked less tamed though. Even so, the wound I'd dealt to Kazuya would hopefully slow him down, but only time would tell. Could anyone survive a bullet to the chest? Impossible! In defense I raised my arm to block Kazuya from compeltely destorying me where I stood. As teeth met my arm and flinched. Pulling up my other one a fired off another shot at his side and then before I could react I was on the ground. Jerimiah had made his mark. I felt two sets of powerful teeth. I was in a dangerous sistuation with no one to pull me out. When I'd fallen I'd dropped my other gun which left me defenseless. "Get off," I yelled. Even though I was down I refused to give up. I pulled out a silver blade and aimed for Jerimiah's shoulder. This was not my day.

Kazuya felt his teeth make their mark in the girls arm, but let out a piercing yelp as another bullet made contact with his side. He rolled off the girl and onto his side, his breath coming in short pants. A bullet to both his side and his chest was almost too much pain for him to bare. Turning back into his human form, he brought his gaze back to Jerimiah and Kitsra, his eyes widening as he saw he pull out a silver blade. "Jerimiah!" Not knowing what else to do, Kazuya caught the blade with his bare hand. It sliced both sides of Kazuya's hand, but didn't make contact with Jerimiah. That one hit might've been fatal to Jerimiah, since he was still unable to control his wolf side. Kazuya could feel the silver burning in his hand and he promptly let go of the blade, holding his bleeding hand close to his stomach in pain.

Jerimiah didn't hesistate as he felt his teeth sink in and sweat crimson blood slid down his throat. His eyes glowed with satisfaction and he released the girls shoulder. He went to snap again when he saw silver being slashed in his direction. He had never been hit with silver and wasn't sure whether the rumors and legends of silver being able to kill true. His fur stood on end and he started to snap again not caring because his target was dead infront of him. This was no more than a game to him. A game that he'd win because he was stronger and faster. At the moment he started to bite he heard someone call his name.

His head lifted and growled with annoyance. Though Kazuya had protected him from the blade he'd intererrupted his chance to finish what was started. Instantly he whipped around and lunged at Kazuya. It was suddenly every man for themself. There was no longer friend or foe, just foe. An enemy to be wiped out and a kill to be satisfied over.

Kazuya's eyes widened slightly as he saw Jerimiah lung at him. What was he going to do now? He was injured as it was, and he couldn't defend Jerimiah from the hunter, and defend himself from both of them all at the same time! Giving a quick look at Kitsra, Kazuya yelled "Don't just stand there, get out of here already!" while putting his arm up to try to defend himself from Jerimiah's oncoming claws/teeth. Kazuya felt Jerimiah's teeth sink into his arm and Kazuya fell back, flinching. He had no intentions of killing Jerimiah, so he'd just have to find a way to get him back to normal. "Dammit Jerimiah, control yourself!!" He yelled. There was no way Kazuya'd be able to get back up in time to dodge whatever Jerimiah was going to do next. He'd already been shot twice and his hand was still burning from contact with the silver, not to mention he now had the fresh bite wound on his arm that Jerimiah'd just inflicted. If Kazuya didn't end this soon, he'd end up passing out from losing way too much blood. Then who knew what would happen to him with both the hunter and Jerimiah there.

I scareamed in pain and tears filled my eyes. They were mixed with flustration and pain. I shut my eyes tight as I saw that the wolf was about to end my young life where I lay, defenseless and out numbered, but right in the midst of it all Kazuya called Jerimiah's name and the unspeakable happened. I was free of Jerimiah's crushing weight as he lunged at Kazuya. This was all to confsing for me. I stood up and held my shoulder. Both my arms where injured. I gasped in horror as Jerimiah bit Kazuya. Hadn't he said early not to point my gun at one of his own. If they were friends why was Jerimiah looking liek he was ready to tear him to shreads?! I didn't have much time to be confused though because Kazuya was telling me to run. I started to take a step back but stop. My eyes turned fearless. "I never back down!" I picked up my gun and aimed them at Jerimiah. I fire off several rounds. To bad I hadn't put in my silver bullets though, it would have been smarter because he could easily get up from lead.

Jerimiah growled as Kazuya yelled at him to stop. He didn't get why he would want to stop. He was enjoying himself. The taste of sweet crimson blood in his mouth was just too good. Far too good to let ecape. Besides, Jerimiah was lost in his wolf side, he couldn't even hear Kazuya's pleading voice. It was just aggrivating him actually. He gave a growl and snapped at Kazuya's throat. His fangs came inches from there mark, once again he was getting distracted by a voice. He turned his black eyes on Kitsra.

She had a gun pointed at him now and the moment she fired it off he jerked away from Kazuya and froze. He let out a small whin and collasped onto the ground. His soft whimpers filled the air until he fell silent. Crying was pointless. He looked down at his body and sighed lightly. He was badly wounded. His side was bleeding and so was his left arm. Jerimiah glanced at Kazuya. His senses were finally returning and like if glass had shattered around him he was human once more. Jerimiah tried to sit up but he couldn't. He sighed, both of them were injured because he couldn't restrain himself and now they were facing a hunter. Jerimiah bowed his head. "I'm sorry, Kazuya...you shouldn've gotten involved. Forgive me." He looked at Kazuya. "Don't die, I'd never forgive myself, and remember she's waiting for you."

Kazuya couldn't keep up with everything that'd happened in the next few seconds. He'd flinched as he saw that Jerimiah went to attack him again, and in the next moments he heard Kitsra say something, then heard a gun shot, then Jerimiah whimpering. The next thing he knew, he saw Jerimiah laying on the ground in his human form. It took him a few seconds to realize what'd happened. But when he did figure it out, almost immediately Kazuya's nails turned to claws, his eyes turned yellow, and his teeth to fangs. Slowly and shakely getting up, Kazuya's yellow eyes turned to Kitsra in a glare. Jerimiah's whole existance at the scene seemed to have disappeared, yet Jerimiah's existance was the only thing fueling Kazuya's rage at the moment. The fact that all these changes to Kazuya's appearance had happened while he remained in his human form only made him look more intimidating than he had in any other form.

Within seconds, Kazuya appeared in front of Kitsra, grabbed her by the front of her shirt and slammed her against a tree, holding her there with only the one hand. "Did you think I was joking when I told you not to point that at him?!" he growled. "You know, I'd gladly kill you if I thought it would protect any of my hybrids! But killing you would just send hunters after us moreso than now! I will give you ten minutes to get as far away from here as you can.." He glanced down at her gun and added angrily "And if you even try to pull that thing on us again, I'll rip your arm clear off the rest of your body, you got it?!" With that he threw her to the ground and glared at her. Kazuya's breathing was heavy, and the pain to his wounds was slowly returning, but he didn't let it show.

I gave a grin for I had hit my target with no problems at all. It looked like my luck was finally turning around...or not... Before I could get too happy Kazuya was up on his feet and galring at her. It seemed he'd been doing that for a while now since the entire fight had started. I pulled up my gun for protecting, but it was too late. He had me by the shirt and had slammed me up against a tree. I let out a small squeak of fear. I listened without any arguement and when he threw me to the ground I let out a moan of pain. I decided I'd have to fight another day when I was more prepare, but let there have been no mistake. That bastard was at the top of my list. I stood up from the ground and ran off. Ten minutes wasn't a long time.

Jerimiah looked as Kazuya as he began to change, but he hadn't made it to his full wolf form. It looked like he was half. There was yet another stage completed by the Hybrid Leader. Jerimiah gave a sigh and watched everything happen. Wasn't much he could do, but watch anyhow. As Kazuya approached the girl and slammed her against the tree he sat silent. He wondered if Kazuya had control over himself, to kill this girl would be bad. Killing any hunter would be bad. Life was such a double standard. If they killed hunters then they got hunted down and killed, but when hunters killed them it was okay.

By the time Jerimiah had got done pondering over double standards Kitsra was running for dear life. Jerimiah gave a small sigh of relief and started to pull the bullets from his side and arm. Lead hurt, but it could have been worse. He looked up at Kazuya. He owed him an apology and more than anything his life. If he did tell Kazuya that he already knew what he'd have to do, but it didn't matter. He stood up and flinched. He hadn't healed yet, and possibly wouldn't for a while.

He walked over to Kazuya, each step made him press agaisnt his wound. "Thank you," he said to Kazuya. "I owe you my life," he said quietly. He bowed his head so that he was looking at the ground. "I'm sorry that you got injured because of me." Jerimiah hadn't really apologized to anyone before because he had mostly avoided everyone, but Kazuya had done alot for him these past couple of days and they'd just met.

Kazuya sighed when he saw Kitsra start to run. He flinched slightly as he leaned against the tree and slid down so that he was sitting against it. His eyes, nails, and teeth went back to normal as Kazuya held his side. At the moment, Kazuya couldn't even feel the wound in his chest. He'd forgotten it was even there. Looking up at Jerimiah as he spoke, Kazuya shook his head before could even finish what he was saying. "Don't thank me. I mean it. It's my job to protect any hybrid I come across..." he said after Jerimiah had finished speaking. Kazuya looked up at him. "I was made to fight. I found something to fight for. End of story." Kazuya looked off to the side. "Now sit down and take it easy before you pass out from losing too much blood." At this point, that's about how Kazuya was feeling. He could feel his exhaustion coming back to him, and paired with the pain of his wounds, maybe he was ready to pass out himself.

Jerimiah fell silent as Kazuya told him not to thank him. If that's what he wanted, then so be it. Jerimiah turned his head to the side and looked up to the sky. It was a decent day, too bad a fight had destroyed it. Now the only thing left was teh scent of blood that suprising had no effect on him and the lingering battle on the air. He then looked at Kazuya after he said 'end of story.' "Okay," Jerimiah said.

Jerimiah then looked at Kazuy as he told him to sit down and that he did without any hesistation. As he sat down he got in a comfortable position and went quiet. "Um, Kazuya....I'm sorry I bit you," he said even though he knew Kazuya would possibly jsut yell at him about apologizing. "Also....I'd like to try and get some control again, if that's okay with you?"

Kazuya sighed and looked at Jerimiah. "You couldn't control yourself, don't apologize." Kazuya nodded as Jerimiah said he wanted to learn how to control himself. "Alright, but if you try to bail on your first attempt again, I'll beat the crap out of you and make you stay, got it?" Kazuya said with a half smile. Kazuya looked down. But this time....I won't bring Kai.... Kazuya flinched as he pulled the bullet from his side. He'd have to get someone else to take the bullet from his chest. Taking it out himself would be way too risky.

Jerimiah agve a small nod of his head. "Thank you," he said in response to Kazuya giving him a second chance. He really did want to learn how to control himself, but still, could he handle the stress and the strain it took. Would he let that peace overcome him againa nd turn on his only friend? the question remained a mystery for now, but Jerimiah had the feeling it wouldn't be that way for long.

He then looked at Kazuya as he flinched after taking out a bullet. It looked bad. Jerimiah then slwoly turned to himself. He'd forgotten all about his own bullets. It'd be best to take them out before he lost too much blood. He reached up to his shoulder and pulled the first one out. The bullet fell into the soft dirt and Jerimiah gave a light sigh. That was much better than, but the one in his side would be wrose. He'd need bandages for this, he looked at Kazuya, so would he.

Jerimiah swallowed lightly and then rubbed his shoulder. He didn't want to rip his shirt so he could stop the bleeding. He glanced down the road and then looked farther and farther until he could see a blue light. "Huh?" Jerimiah shook his head. His eye sight was getting better, that meant his wolf side was getting better to. He gave a smile. "Um, Kazuya, maybe we should make a trip to the hospital," he said. "So we can get fixed up." He then closed his eyes and waited for the answer, because he wasn't sure what it would be.

Kazuya gave a light smile. "Don't mention it." Looking around the forest a few seconds, he brought his gaze back to Jerimiah and gave a curt nod. "Yeah," he said, holding his side slightly. "I'm not much of a medic, so that'd be a good idea," he said with a small laugh. Getting up slowly, Kazuya looked at Jerimiah. "How many times were you hit...?" Kazuya asked, his voice somewhat quieter. He felt ashamed that he could've let something like this happen. Whether he knew it or not, Kazuya held an undying grudge against hunters, even before this had happened.

Jerimiah opened his eyes as Kazuya spoke. "Two as far as I know," he said. He then started to get up to his feet. Quite a struggle, but he managaed it in the end. Jerimiah had never been shot at before so this was a first. He wasn't sure about Kazuya though, still he had other things he needed to speak to him about. Tings like apologizing to Kai if Kazuya would allow it. He felt that he'd left thinsg in a bad way, and that he needed to make amends.

Slowly he dusted himself careful not to touch his wound. It already hurt beyond reason and he could only imagine how Kazuya felt since he'd had a one go directly into his chest. He closed his eyes for a moment a let out a small breath. He wondered if Kazuya knew anything about their vampire side, because he surely didn't. Not until a few days ago atleast....

Kazuya looked down. When they got to the hospital, he'd make sure that Jerimiah was first to get taken care of. He shouldn't have gotten shot in the first place.... Kazuya couldn't help but think that if he'd only came sooner.... He kept the guilt from his eyes as they walked. Kazuya yawned. It'd been several days since he'd had a full night's sleep and it was finally catching up to him.
