The day was as any other fall day: Grey clouds, green grass, and people out and about. This irritated Atticus. He only liked to be out by himself, or with friends. He had met Tenkuu in a solemn way, and as suck took kindly to her presence. If he met someone now, that wouldn't be the case unless it was another outcast.

He approached the middle of the forest, and he heard a noise. He could tell it was human by the scent of human blood. He turned to face the smell, and came upon another person. He simply looked at the person.

Shen was taking a walk through the rogue forest. He was in the warmer parts. Not too long into his walk though, he smelled a familiar scent, but he couldn't tell what it was of. When he came up to another person, he knew something was wrong. They didn't smell like a normal human. Shen gave him a quick lookover. "Hey, what's up," he asked casually.

Atticus looked at the guy. He had yellow eyes, and smelled wild. He knew, almost instantly, that this was a wolf. "I am Atticus Finch," was all he said to Shen. He backed up a bit. "Now, what's your name, stranger. And why are you here in this forest?" He knew Shen would most likely ask him the same thing, but that was okay for him.

Shen tilted his hat slightly. "The name's Shen Kurabara." He shrugged. "And I was just takin a walk. Needed a break. And what about yourself. Why're you here?" Shen was racking his brains out trying to remember where he'd smelled this scent before, but only a second later it hit him: Vampire. This kid was a vampire.

Atticus almost smiled when he realized Shen was a wolf. He knew that Shen knew he was a vampire, and as long as these two didn't fight, all was good. "As you know, I am a vampire, today is cloudy, and I'm in a forest. I can only GUESS why I'm here." He laughed slightly. "I know your a wolf, and I'm cool with that. Would you care to walk with me?" he beckoned back to the trail he was on.

Shen smiled and shrugged. "I have nothing against vampires," he said walking up next to Atticus. "So, Atti, what village you from?" he asked, being as casual as he could.
