Shen laid in the middle of the open in his wolf form in the thin layer of snow that was on the ground. He was starting to like the snow, normally he hated it. Lifting his head slightly, his ears twitching, he gave a low growl as he heard approaching footsteps.

A girl walked in the snow almost silently. Her long hair was upbraided and flew in the wind. She wore a white dress with white leggings. She wasn't cold but she enjoyed the snow. She herd something that caused her to look up. What she saw made her give a jump. A wolf! Cute! she said not knowing if there would be any trouble.

(Cute? Who looks at wolf and says cute? Especially a horse breeder! XD)

Shen saw what made the footsteps and immediately got up, taking a step back. He gave a small growl. He didn't know who this girl was, but he'd learned over his years as an ANBU to take every precaution. He kept his eyes on her just in case. He wouldn't change. He wanted as few people as possible to know what he was.

(lol, Rachel has two dogs and a cross breed wolf pup-half dog)

Rachel took a step back and put her hands in front of her "Woa boy, you wouldn't want to hurt a 14 year old stealth rancher! I didn't even do anything!" She took off the backpack she had on and unzipped it. She took out a small dog bone cookie and tossed it in the snow. "Having two dogs and one cross breed wolf pup, i think i know how to be nice to you." She gave a smile.

Shen looked at her as she explained herself, then shifted his eyes to the ground when she threw the treat. Looking back up at her, he growled again. She'd said she'd had a mutt, only half wolf. Those types were tame. Shen was full wolf and could hardly be considered tame. When he realized that he was getting way too angry, Shen took another step back, but didn't take his eyes from the girl. She was from the stealth like he was, and he didn't want to go hurting anyone.

Rachel looked at shen and bent down. "What's the matter boy? I wouldn't hurt you, never." She said with a smile. There was the sound off little barking and large barking as two dogs came into view. The wolf pup stumbled in the snow as he followed the other dogs. He didn't have his harness on so he ran right up to Shen and covered him in licks.

Shen back up another step as Rachel came up to him. He looked past her as he heard barking. His eyes widened slightly as a wolf pup ran up to Shen and started licking him. It looked indistinguishable from a normal wolf pup and in fact, almost reminded him of Teia when she was young. Shen looked at the other dogs and growled and backed away again, his eyes drifting once again to the wolf pup. His eyes softening, he laid back down.

Rachel smiled as the pup calmed down Shen. "Back to the house. Now!" She said to the dogs when she realized Shen didn't trust them so much. The pup looked up and rachel nodded to him and he jumped on shen playfully. Rachel gave a laugh.

Shen watched as the dogs left. When the pup jumped on him, he stayed laying down and looked at Rachel. Despite the fact that he was used to humans, his wolf side of himself just told him that humans should never see a wolf's true nature. Shen looked at the pup, and with a playful growl, knocked it off of him with his paw.

Rachel looked at Shen "Now do you trust me?" she said walking slowly up to him. When the pup was knocked off, he gave a whimper and pushed himself under a snowdrift. He let out another whimper and started crying. He wasn't used to being pushed off.

Shen's eyes widened slightly as he heard the pup start crying. Getting up, Shen went over to the pup and nudged it with his nose. Shen'd been basically a parent himself for about six years, and couldn't stand hearing wolf pups cry. Giving a small bark, Shen nudged the pup again.

Rachel watched Shen. The pup gave a bark and licked Shen's muzzle. She lets out a bark and curled himself into a ball and put his nose in his tail-fur with another bark

If Shen were in his human form, he woulda been smiling at the pup. He laid down, curled slightly around the pup as to keep him warm. Looking up at Rachel, he gave a low bark. It wasn't necessarily that he trusted her, but more that, if this was her pet, she should be able to make sure that he was okay. She could come by him, so long as she didn't try anything.

Rachel smiled at Shen. "Looks like the pup is cold" She said as Shen Curled around the pup. She walked up to him slowly and petted him softly, trying to get him to trust her enough. She was very careful though.

Shen laid his head on top of the pup with a low playful growl, but then lifted it quickly as Rachel started to pet him. He...he wasn't some kinda tamed mutt! But still....he didn't have all that many people that were even willing to pet him. So he just laid his head back down on the pup and let her pet him.

Rachel didn't expect Shen to stay calm as she petted him. "Being wild means taking chances for me. Even if it means getting my hand bit off." She gave a small laugh and petted her pup. "Not many people are like me, being a person not having ninja skills, but at the same time, taking risks."

Shen lifted his head as Rachel petted the pup. She'd talked to him about taking risks. Heh, he suspected she didn't know the first thing about taking risks. He looked at her. He had a thought that maybe....maybe he should change into a human and show her. But if he did, he might spook the pup, and he was more worried about the pup than he was about Rachel. Shen licked the top of the pups head and laid his head down.

Rachel let out a sigh. Little did she know she was talking to a hybrid. The pup stirred once then fell asleep. Rachel looked from the pup to Shen. She looked up to the sky and leaned back onto the cold snow. She gave a shiver before closing her eyes.

Shen looked at the pup, then back to Rachel. Getting up, Shen shook off once, and sat down in the snow, and changed into his human form, sitting cross-legged on the ground. He picked up the pup and laid it on his lap, and petted it. Looking at Rachel, he said quietly "I'm Shen..."

Rachel Looked at shen in disbelieve. "Your... " She cut off looking at the wolf pup then up at shen. "Rachel..." She said shutting her eyes again. An image flashed of the wolf pack she once met... a long time ago...

Shen nodded. "Yeah, I'm a shifter." Shen looked down at the wolf pup, and continued stroking its' fur softly. He was such a softie for pups. Always had been. "I'm sorry if I scared you earlier when I growled at you. With all that's been happening in the world lately....I've learned to be cautious."

A shifter huh? cool Rachel thought she watched him stroke the pup. "Can't you talk in your wolf form?" she asked picking up a bit of snow in her bare hands. She made a snow ball and gave a little evil smile. She threw it at Shen and the pup woke up. He barked as some snow got on him

Shen looked at Rachel and shook his head. "Nah. I think I'm one of the only ones who can't." He blinked as she picked up some snow and sighed. "Don't even think-" he started, but then felt a faceful of snow. Shaking his head off he looked at Rachel with a somewhat mischievous smile. "Bad move," he said picking up some snow and tossing it at her before turning back into a wolf and pawing some snow in her face.

Rachel laughed As shen threw snow at her. The pup yipped and searched the snow for a piece of snow sticking together. He grabbed it and threw it and shen's feet. Rachel got up and scooped up a good amount of snow before throwing it at Shen.

Shen got hit by the snow that Rachel threw at him and shook off before hitting the clump of snow that was in front of his feet at her. By the end of this, he'd probably look like an arctic wolf. Shaking off again, Shen lowered down as if he was about to pounce, but he was really getting ready to dodge the next snowball. He gave a playful growl and kept his eyes on Rachel.
