Aoi walked into the training grounds with her arms behind her head like today was one of the best days ever. It was a nice day out though. A perfect day for the training she was about to undertake. She'd been chosen as a Sannin's apprentice. Her parents weren't so thrilled, but Aoi herself was psyched. Walking into the training grounds, she put her arms down and began to look for her new sensei.

Bell walked to the training grounds. She'd be meeting Aoi again today. They'd had a previous session, but now it was time to get serious. Tomorrow they'd be taking on a mission. Once in the grounds she waved to the Death Chuunin. "Hello Aoi, are you ready?"

Aoi smiled as she saw Bell waving at her and walked up, taking her glasses off as she went. She didn't actually need them, but some of her friends found her a bit intimidating, so she kinda felt obligated to wear them. "Hello sensei," she said with a nod. "Yes, I'm ready." She stopped a few feet away from Bell. This was combat training, so getting too close at the beginning was a bad idea.

Bell smiled. "You're learning," she said as she pulled a kunai. "Combat training start, now." She threw the kunai and two others apperared in its shadow. Bell then pulled a scroll. "Your goal is to take me down," she said. With that she opened the scroll and laid it across the ground before disppearing from sight.

Aoi pulled out a kunai of her own and threw it at the one Bell threw, then saw the two others. She dodged those, but when she looked back, Bell was gone. W-where'd she go? she thought, looking around. Quickly, Aoi pulled two bomb tags and placed them on the ground, one behind her and one in front of her. In case Bell tried to come at her from underground or in case she tried the behind attack. Looking around, Aoi's eyes carefully scanned the training grounds for any sign of her sensei.

Bell was in the distance. Aoi was learning, but it'd take alot more to be a Sannin. "Ninja Art: Secret Scroll." The scroll that Bell had laid down earlier began to glow and then exploded. Hundreds of kunai knives came from the scroll, but it was only a genjutsu. This was to test just how well Aoi could tell reality from an illusion.

Aoi continued to look around before noticing the scroll that Bell'd laid down earlier started to glow. "What the...." her eyes widened as kunai knives began to come out of the scroll. "This has to be some kind of jo-" she stopped as the kunai's were coming towards her. If she'd been facing a normal opponent, sure they'd probably use a jutsu like this. But Bell was her sensei, and not aiming to kill her. Which meant.... Aoi put her hands together in the tiger sign and let all her chakra fade before bringing it all up at once to try to break the genjutsu. When the kunai's disappeared, Aoi sighed, glad that she hadn't made a mistake. She looked around again, then saw a slight movement in the distance. Moving to the side, she moved back from the exploding tags she'd placed on the ground, then detonated them, kicking up smoke and dust. In the cover of the smoke, Aoi made a clone and did an earth jutsu that let her move towards Bell while underground. When the smoke cleared, the clone was still looking around for Bell, while the real Aoi quickly came up from the ground behind Bell and attempted to kick her in the side.

Bell saw Aoi break the illusion. "Very good," she said when she saw smoke come up. "Hmm?" When it was over Aoi was there. "Now why would she do that?" Bell looked around for a clone or the real thing. There was no way a ninja would stay in the open like that after kicking up smoke. It had to be a trick. Then Aoi came from underground and kicked her. Bell was knocked to the side, but she stoped herself by spinning on her hands and sending the kick back in a reversed style.

Aoi felt her kick make contact, but before she had a chance to catch herself, Bell'd sent the kick right back at her. Aoi caught herself on one hand and pushed herself high enough into the air so that she could catch onto a tree branch and sit herself on it (imagine how Inuyasha sits pretty much anywhere). As soon as she landed, she pulled out several kunai's, one with a bomb tag on it, and threw them at Bell.

Bell pulled a kunai and sent it at Aoi as she pushed herself into the air. Bell then started after her until Aoi sent kunai's her way. Bell canceled them out with shuriken but had not noticed the bomb. When it exploded she sheilded her eyes. Before the smoke cleared though she two shuriken at Aoi.

Aoi didn't have enough time to dodge the kunai Bell'd sent at her while she was in the air, so it'd hit her shoulder. The bomb tag'd worked so Aoi started a jutsu after swinging around to the other side of the tree to avoid the shuriken. When she'd finished her jutsu, she jumped back around and sent a fireball towards Bell. Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!

Bell hadn't expected Aoi to move so fast and when the Fire Ball came at her she had to make a quick dive to the side. Slidding to the side she took a moment to catch her breath. "Well done Aoi, now come down here so we recap before we start again," she said.

Aoi watched to see if her fireball'd hit, removing the kunai from her shoulder and holding it so that she could use it to block oncoming weapons if need be. Aoi stood from her defensive position, ready to move when she saw Bell dodge her jutsu. She jumped down from the tree branch, hanging onto it a second before letting herself fall to the ground, when Bell called her to come here. She walked up to Bell with a smile. "You okay, sensei?"

Bell smiled. "I'm fine," she said as she looked at Aoi. "Okay, here's a quick evaluation of your progress. You're moving quicker and thinking ahead, which are two great skills, but it seems you're more focused on your enemy than your surrounded," she said. "A ninja must be aware of everything around them," Bell said. She looked to where the scroll had been. "Remember when I had left the scroll," she said. "You didn't seem to care much for it, so I was easily able to catch you off guard with it." Bell shrugged. "Other than that your doing very well. Anything you'd like to add?"

Aoi listened carefully as Bell explained her progress. It was true, when Bell'd left the scroll, Aoi didn't think anything of it. In fact, she'd thought it's only purpose was to help Bell disappear. She nodded when Bell said that a ninja must be aware of her surroundings. Then she asked if there was anything Aoi'd like to add. "Uhm, yes. When am I going to be able to start learning medical ninjutsu?" she asked. That was definitely one of the things she wanted to learn while training under Bell. It would more than certainly help her out on missions and in battles.

Bell pretty much lit up at Aoi question. Bell loved practing in medical jutsu. She was very much skilled in it and would love to pass on her skills to someone else. And what better way to do that than teach Aoi. "We'll start after the mission tomorrow," she said. "Glad you asked. Are you ready for the next phase?"

Aoi smiled brightly as Bell said they'd start training in medical ninjutsu after their mission. "Okay," she said, then nodded at the next question. "Absolutely, bring it on!" she said excitedly.

Bell back up and pulled a kunai. She'd let Aoi make the first move this time around. She would take a different approach in attacking as well. If Aoi could adapt to a change in situation then there was no doubt that she would be ready for this mission. "Begin," Bell said.

Aoi readied herself as Bell backed away and pulled a kunai. She wasn't attacking first.... Which gave Aoi great opportunity. Doing a jutsu, Aoi poofed away and reappeared silently behind a tree behind Bell. Pulling out several shuriken, Aoi quickly stepped out from behind the tree and threw them at Bell. Little did Bell know, there were invisible strings attached to the shuriken.

Bell nodded. So she went into hiding instead of an head on attack. Wise choice. She then turned at the sound of shurikens slicing through the air. Bell quickly dodge them and sent shuriken in Aoi's direction. She hadn't seen the strings, so she didn't know she was at a disadvantage.

Aoi couldn't do much to dodge the oncoming shuriken for fear of them slicing the strings she held attached to her fingers. Well, except duck. Aoi ducked, some of the shurikens cutting the top of her shoulders, but nothing too serious. Raising herself back up quickly, Aoi pulled the strings back, causing the shuriken strings to reverse in an attempt to wrap themselves around Bell. Aoi started a jutsu and put her hands in the tiger sign with the strings to her lips. Fire Style: Flaming Puppetry! she thought as the strings were set on fire as they went to wrap themselves around Bell.

Bell stopped suprised as the strings wrapped around her. "When did she-" Bell was cut off as she saw the fire. She didn't have many options anymore. Had she seen the wires sooner she could have made up a counter. Now it was time to put her quick thinking to use. Reaching for her kunai she cut the strings just in time to avoid serious damage. But her skirt and shirt were singed. "Well done," she said. But training hadn't ended yet. It was time for the change in tactics. Bell ran directly at Aoi with a kunai in hand. Bell wanted to see if Aoi would avode hand to hand combat or not.

Aoi's technique didn't work as well as she'd hoped, but it's not like she was seriously trying to kill Bell. If this was a real enemy, they wouldn'tve gotten away so easily. Right after Bell'd got free though, she ran at Aoi with a kunai. Truth be told, Aoi was much much better with distance combat than close combat. Pulling out her own kunai, Aoi clashed with Bell's kunai and held it there. Aoi didn't have as much upper body strength as she would've liked, so holding Bell's kunai was slightly difficult. Aoi let Bell's kunai slip down by moving her own kunai, and aimed a kick at Bell's side.

Bell felt Aoi struggling with the kunai. Stepping forward she went to push Aoi back but her kunai slipped and Aoi kicked her in the side. Bell rolled across the ground but got up recovering from the attack. She then pulled out a flash bomb and rolled it across the ground and turned her head while it exploded. She then got up and ran Aoi with the kunai.

As soon as Aoi felt her kick hit, she made a move to backflip away from Bell to put distance between them and swing herself up onto a treebranch. As she saw Bell pull something out, Aoi swung to the other side of the tree and stood on the branch with her back to the tree while she saw a flash go off. So it was a flashbomb, she thought, trying to blink her sight back. She'd only lost it a little since she was facing almost all the way in the other direction. Aoi stood against the tree for a few moments, panting slightly. Bell was really strong, there was no doubt about that. But Aoi'd wait for her to find her behind the tree until making her next move. She needed a few seconds to recuperate.
