This forum is, and will continue to be open to both guests and members alike. If you want to perhaps work on your writing skills, without giving away that you are doing so, you may post in these threads as a guest. And yes, you are allowed to post in the threads, in fact, it is encouraged. That is what this school is here for.

I will be borrowing some things from another site that I RP on, the site will not be named off for personal reasons, but know that I take no credit for any of this. If the work is my own, I will say so.

Questions about posting will go directly in this board, you may make your own threads in the school. Mock threads are welcome as well. For example, if you are an akatsuki and want to practice a friendly thread with a non-akatsuki without Deidara killing you for doing so, here would be the place to do it. Take heed. The mock threads that take place in the school are just that: mock. They will not happen in real RP time. They are fake, for show, for practice.

If you'd like to RP with one of the admins, or the better posters of the site for practice, to see how they do it, simply RP them explaining what you wish to do, and I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige.

Some of the members on this site will be asked to try something in this board, if the admins feel that your posting is below average.

I know that this will be said in some of the lessons, but these are my own words. Forum Role-Play is based solely on words. Pictures work for describing your characters, yes, but you want to describe all else with your words. Or, at least, most everything else. Paint a picture in your RP partner's head, allow them to envision what you're trying to say. Detail is your friend. Don't think that your partner(s) is capable of mind reading. They don't see what you see unless you describe it to them. Example:

"A midnight lake." What does that say? It might be dark? No no no, this is wrong, a bad example. Here's a good one:

"The bright white light of the full moon shown on the pitch black lake, the only other lights being the stars that shimmered in the sky, their reflections barely visible on the dark, faltering mirror that was the water before him." This is a good example. Could you see it? The lake? The bright white light of the shining moon? If you can see the picture clearly in your mind when you re-read it, being able to picture every detail, you, are, golden. (Yes, I'm having fun with italics today.)

I'll make up my own lessons as I go along, but for the most part, the lessons I post up from the other site will cover what you need to bulk up a post. I'll be covering things like grammar, if there are no lessons on that. Grammar is a biggy (<< See that? Bad grammar, but it's still readable). If your partner can't understand what you're saying, an appropriate response may be hard to come up with, making the thread rather awkward, and, quite frankly, unfun.
