The Soldier Project was founded by the Stealth thirteen years ago. The Project was suppose to make the Stealth's army more sufficient. These Soldiers would fight on the front lines as well as take on the more deadlier missions, but the project was a failure. The following documentations are notes and interviews by the Stealth Scientist.
Thirteen years ago the Stealth chose to create genetically engineered Shinobi for war purposes. At the time, the Akatsuki had been a major threat and the Lightning Village had risen up to once again rage war on the Valley's. The Stealth secretly took action and gathered a team of scientist. Forty-two intelligent men and women would make history, but the other five Vallies would never know. For this was an experiment meant only for the Stealth.
Two years of research would go by before the scientist would preform the first experiment. They found their subjects through a random lottery of 270 male Shinobi ages 18 to 30. The plan was to find 10 candidates out of the 270 ninja. There was one downfall to finding these subjects. The subjects would have to volunteer on their own accord as well as be willing to forfeit their lives for the sake of the project. In the previous year the scientist had required human test subjects but the Council refused. They claimed it unethical, so the scientist inquired about dead subjects and using a type of re-animation technique. The idea was carefully thought over, but once more the Council shut the idea down. Dead subjects would mean digging up those who were already laid to rest, and because they were dead, they could not consent to this experiment. So it came down to one thing. The volunteers would have to willing give their lives up and be brought back via . The Council accepted that idea and the pickings begin.
The scientist gave all 270 ninja a thorough interview before to see if they were compatible with the project. Of the 270 only 119 were compatible. The scientist would then randomly pick 10 candidates. However, because this was a trail run, only one would be able to go through the trail. Candidate one would be as followed on the next file.

Background Information
The oldest of four children Tomaka is originally from the Shadow Village. After graduating the Academy he came to the Stealth seeking a better life. As if by chance his village was wiped out by a much larger village two years after he left. Emotionally and mentally wounded, he quit the life of a ninja. It wasn't until after the Council came to him about his much needed help did he regain the will to once more continue the life as a ninja. Tomaka was unaware that the reason the Council personally came to him was due to them needing him as a possible candidate of a Super Soldier Project that was non existent to anyone outside the 47 scientist as well as the Kage and the Council. A few months later he was brought in by the scientist for interviewing. Tomaka was not ready to give up his life at the time, but it was apparent that he had nothing to lose or gain through the process. All who were of blood relation to him had died and he no longer felt the need to do much, so he agreed to the project. He would later be known as Subject 92730482 and finally One.

The scientist had used the two years to find every way possible to make this possible. Down to the very way of killing the volunteering Shinobi in the least painful way. Head Scientist Dr. Masa Ashitaka was in charge on the matter. Lethal injection was the most ethical way of way of killing the future super soldiers. And to ensure their passing was comfortable and correct, Ashitaka did the procedure himself. This lethal injection would also get rid of any memories. Ashitaka was wanted a clean slate and no doubts to set back these future mercenaries. The first process went over smoothly. No complications occurred and within minutes Tomaka was gone. Before his 'passing' there was an interview conducted.

Interviewer: Are you scared? Tomaka: Nervous, but not scared. Interviewer: Would you be doing this if your family was still alive? Tomaka: I don't want to talk about my family. Interviewer: I apologize. Let's move on to some other questions. How did you feel when you were first chosen for this Project. Tomaka: I don't know. I didn't know about this until they told me. I was confused. Interviewer: Do you feel as though you deserve this opportunity? *A long pause* Tomaka: What kind of questions are these? I'm about to allow some guy I barely know take my life, and for what? The sake of being a guinea pig! Why aren't you part of the project. You all act as if it's so great around here, but none of you are trying to be part of the history. If it's wasn't for me, you wouldn't even be capable of preforming this so called Project. Interviewer: Please calm down, Tomaka. I never mean- Tomaka: Shut up, I don't want to hear it.

It took a total of 76 hours before Tomaka was brought back with a Re-animation jutsu as well as the drugs that contained the genetically engineered strain, labeled SSP. When Tomaka awoke, there were no signs of memory from his previous life. Subject 92730482 was then given the name One. 16 weeks of physical training to build up his strength and test how well the drug worked with living corpse. It was the idea of Head Scientist Dr. Masa Ashitaka to make the newly revived One look as alive as humanly possible. Unlike other re-animation techniques, this one was particularly successful in bringing back color to the body instead of the obvious shade of grey.
One adjusted quickly. With no questions being asked about what was going on and why he was always having test run on him, the Project's first trail was a success. Or so they thought. It wasn't until week 32 that the scientist in charge of One's care started to notice that One was behaving oddly. Physically he was capable of doing anything. His strength had multiplied by ten fold over the 32 weeks, but he couldn't retain any information. By week 70, One had completely gone backwards when it came to mental capacity. Where had once know the way to and from his room, he could no longer get from point A to point B without the help of his guide. To the scientist disappointment, the first experiment was a fail.
It was time to revise and start over. Checking into the second candidate the scientist begin multitasking. They had to make sure that candidate number two was still right for the second trail, as well as fix whatever component in the SSP drug that had cause One's memory to fade. It was also debated on whether One should have been destroyed or not. The Council thought it was best, for One was already dead and there was nothing inhuman about putting the dead back to rest. However, the Kage at that time had argued that it wasn't right. He was not some lab rat to be destroyed because he couldn't remember where to go, she claimed he was still a great asset to the Super Soldier Program as well as a possible companion for the next candidate.
On the anniversary of year three, the second candidate was brought in. Candidate two would be as followed on the next file.

An orphan from the moment he was born, Seiji grew up in the Stealth orphanage. Upon turning 5 he requestedto be enrolled in the village's academy so that he could start the life of a ninja. He wanted to make a name for himself. Seiji was a quick learner and soon made his way to the top of his class. Becoming a Genin at 7 he advanced to Chuunin three years later and then to Jonin at 12. His advancements in rank meant he was rarely in the orphanage. It is unknown as to whether or not he'd planned the advances so accordingly. By 14 he was a ANBU. Seiji may have been aiming for Captain, but at age18 he was removed from the orphanage, he was now an adult and capable of handling himself. Days after he was pulled from the orphanage he was interviewed for the project. Seiji would soon be known as Subject 0047760 and then Two.

The following two interviews were conducted the six days before the Lethal Injection and the day of the Lethal Injection. Unlike One, Seiji was very cooperative. It was unknown if it was all an act or if he was genuine in his responses.
Interview with Subject 92730482 Six Days Before the Injection
Interviewer: Good morning Seiji, we don't mean to bother you, but can you answer a few questions? Seiji: Sure. Interviwer: In six days you'll go through the lethal injection process, what are your feelings? Seiji: I've always wanted to be better, to make my way to the top, so this is pretty damn awesome. I'm going to be a Super Soldier. Interviewer: Ah, so you're excited? Seiji: Yeah. Interviwer: Any fears? Seiji: My only fear is that something will go wrong. I was recently introduced to One and he's very forgetful. I don't want to end up that way. What happens if he forgets who's the enemy and attacks an friend? Interviewer: I see, you have a point. Does it bother you that you'll have no memory of the transition from the life you lived now to the one you will soon live? Seiji: I just want to remember why I did this. And it's to become better than what I am now. Interviewer: How do you like the facility? Seiji: Okay I guess. I'm not allowed to go many places. I'm always being monitored and test are constantly being run, but it's worth it. Interviewer: Well, that is all, I shall let you get back to your lunch. Seiji: Okay. Interviewer: Oh, and Seiji. Interviewer: So it seems. I guess if you could turn this all around, you wouldn't. Seiji: You know me well and we've only met twice. Interviewer: You've made it clear this is what you want. Two was a success story. The 42 scientist were proud to announce that there were no complications with Two. He was perfect, or he would have been had he not been Blind when he awoke. It was during the test to make sure everything was in tact did they notice his eyes would not follow the light. Disappointed, that they had yet another failure, the scientist started for candidate three. However, Two would not be ignored. It is unclear as to what triggered it, but Two became very active. His stats ran better than One's. Physically and mentally he was stable, and very much determined. Whether the memory jutsu failed or not was not determined, for it didn't matter. The blind soldier was capable of doing the same thing as a person capable of sight. In fact, he was more than capable. He developed what the scientist called the Mind's Eye. The Mind's Eye is capable of seeing with visually seeing. In addition to Two's capability to use the Mind's Eye, he had excellent hearing and sense of smell. He was the scientific definition of a Super Soldiers.
As study further continued Candidate Three was prepped for the Lethal Injection. The scientist begin to speed up the process. They needed better results. In the meant time, Two was further increasing his capabilities. It was as if he'd retained his personality from before. When asked, none of the scientist were sure if the memory jutsu was tampered with, Dr. Ashitaka was in charge of that process. For the current moment, it was a mystery, however, interviews were conducted to see if that was what had happened.
The prepping on Candidate Three was a much quick process, followed by Candidate Four soon after. They were both aloud to meet One and Two, to let them know what they were getting themselves into. This process had been ordered by the Council. Candidate Three was silent on the matter, but Candidate Four had asked for further time to consider his involvement. He was given ten days. He agreed to go through with the process on Day Two.

Background Information
Seto refused to release any background information on himself. The scientist did however find that at the time he had a 2 year old daughter. The mother of the child was unknown, but the girl was placed into her godmother's care and that same godmother informed the scientist that Seto had lived in the worst part of the Stealth. It may have been due to these conditions that Seto joined Soldier Project, knowing his daughter would be placed with her godmother where she could receive better care. Seto would soon be known as Subject 837399 and then Three.

Background Information
Twin brother of Riku Rokuro, Kei was unlike the other soldiers. He wasn't an orphan or the last of his family. The Rokuro family lived a decent life. Both parents were in the boy's life and all was well. When asked about why he was joining the program, Riku claimed he was bored and wanted something exciting. However, during the time that he was nearing the Lethal Injection process he seemed nervous and almost backed out, but with a ten day limit, he chose to stay after the second day. Kei would soon be known as Subject 700023 and then Four.

Interviewer: Welcome Dr. Ashitaka. We would like to ask you a few questions about Two. Dr. Ashitaka: Go ahead. I'm happy to share my knowledge. Interviewer: We understand that you use a memory erase jutsu on each subject, did you do the same for Two? Dr. Ashitaka: Yes. Interviewer: From my understanding, Two seems to have retained some of his personality. Dr. Ashitaka: You see, this is just a trail run, so I'm unsure as to why that has happened. It may just be a flaw in the SSP Drug. Interviewer: But don't you use the same SSP Drug on each subject? Dr. Ashitaka: Correct. Interviewer: So what happened? Dr. Ashitaka: As I said before, I'm not sure. Interviewer: Did someone tamper with the SSP Drug? Dr. Ashitaka: It's possible. I don't see why they would do such a thing. Interviewer: Who all are allowed access to the SSP Drug, aside from you. Dr. Ashitaka: Nobody. I am in direct charge of giving the drug to the Candidates. Interviewer: So, how could one tamper with the Drug? Dr. Ashitaka: I don't know. Interviewer: Do you believe that leaving the personality to the soldiers helps with the transition? Dr. Ashitaka: That question is irrelevant. Why keep the personality, we're making soldiers. They don't need personality. Interviewer: Very well then. I think that is all, sir.

Dr. Masa Ashitaka was later removed from working on the Soldier Project, due to suspicion that he had tampered with the SSP Drug. He left without putting up an argument. When asked if he would do an interview about his removal, he refused, stating he had nothing to say on the matter. Dr. Nina Yukimura later replaced Ashitaka. At the time it we were unsure as to where the former Doctor resided or whether he spoke on the Project that he'd brought from the ground up.

Interviewer: Hello Dr. Yukimura. We're here to ask you a few questions. Dr. Yukimura: Go on. And let's make this quick, I have a procedure to prepare for. Interviewer: Yes ma'am. How do you feel as the new Head Doctor? Dr. Yukimura: I should have been in charge a long time ago. Ashitaka was too soft. Interviewer: So, you believe you can do better? Dr. Yukimura: I know I can do better. Interviewer: Confident. Do you believe Dr. Ashitaka really tampered with the SSP Drug? Dr. Yukimura: Who else has access, no one. Did he think we wouldn't notice. He was so soft. Caring for people that wouldn't even remember their own names when they woke up. They are soldiers. They are dead. Interviewer: Um...okay. *A brief pause* Interviewer: Do you plan on modifying the drug in any way? Dr. Yukimura: I have to go through the Council First. I want to alter the memory part of the drug. And I'm going to keep the soldiers isolated. They don't need to meet one another. One seems to be attached to Two, he should have been disposed of a long time ago. Interviewer: You're pretty strict. Dr. Yukimura: In this line of work you need to be. Interviewer: Do you think Dr. Ashitaka will speak out about the Soldier Project? Dr. Yukimura: He broke protocol. He's been forever banned. If he speaks or even looks like he's going to speak the Special Jonin will find and eliminate him. Interviewer: When do you plan on sending out the soldiers on their first assignment. Dr. Ashitaka said he would wait until they had a stable enough leader. One without flaw. Dr. Yukimura: Two is stable enough, and once Candidate Three and Four are ready, we'll have a team. Then we'll test how well they do in the field. Interviewer: Are you nervous about prepping your first soldier? Dr. Yukimura: Don't make me laugh. I was practically prepping them from the sidelines. Dr. Ashitaka thought we'd mess up something, but this is a simple task. Now, if you don't mind, I have more important task at hand. Interviewer: Oh, yes ma'am.

Doctor Yukimura was confident enough in her skills. Two weeks after her first interview, she begin preparing Candidate Three. No interview was conducted before the procedure with Subject 837399. Thirteen scientist would be present when the procedure begin. Doctor Yukimura believed she would be achieving something great. However, her over confidence would end in a disaster.
At approximately 0800 hours, Seto Blackthorn, also known as Subject 837399 would enter the lab and lay down upon the cold metal table, where he would be strapped down to keep him from resisting the lethal injection. As Dr. Yukimura stated to him. "This is to make sure you don't try and run. Once you've agreed to this, there is no turning back." Seto would look up at the Doctor with empty eyes and not respond. The Lethal Injection was inserted into Subject 837399 at approximately 0830 hours. However, where Dr. Ashitaka would wait 76 hours before inserting the SSP Drug, Dr. Yukimura would insert the SSP Drug immediately at 0840 hours. Ten minutes after the Lethal Injection was inserted. According to Dr. Yukimura, "Time was not important." However she was wrong.
The scientist would watch in horror as Seto begin to convulse on the lab table. His body had not completely 'passed away.' Since he was not completely gone, the SSP Drug went right to work. Without the reanimation technique he was awoken, and in lots of pain. The SSP Drug was not equip to working with live tissue. The affects were catastrophic. The scientist were clueless as to what to do. This had never happened before and they were not prepared. During this time, this was spoken by Seto:
"Amelia, I'm sorry. I swear I'll be better. I'll take care of you, we'll move someplace better soon. I promise. And I'll by you that kitten you wanted. I know how much you love kittens, but I couldn't afford one at the time.......Oh God, please, make it.....make it stop! I can...I can't take this! Please, somebody stop the pain....It burns! Amelia? Amelia? Where are-PLEASE! STOP THE PAIN!............I know I was wrong, I never meant to hurt anyone. GOD DAMMIT, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL! KILL ME! JUST KILL ME! I CAN'T STAND THIS PAIN! PLEASE STOP THE SUFFERING! Rin, please come back home, Amelia misses you. I can't raise her alone....she...cr-cries....her eyes, she...has y-I can't take it...Someone tell my baby girl I love her. Tell her that daddy loves her............will someone....do that.......me....for me....please? I'm so sorry I couldn't be a better father Amelia. I'm sorry I couldn't make your mother stay. Don't look at me with those puppy dog eyes, I'll get you-end it, please...I can't-I can't keep this.......Kill....And that smile....I'M SUFFERING! PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU, JUST END IT!!!......
Seto fell silent afterwards. It may have been the shock had finally gotten to him. He laid on the table for six hours suffering before the SSP Drug was too much for him and he finally died. The message that he loved his two year old daughter Amelia was delivered. As for Rin, the mother of the Seto's daughter, she was later found and informed of the death. Rin Kazuyumi was genuinely upset. She informed us that Seto was a good person, but she left him when he refused to let her get rid of their unborn child. After Amelia was born, Seto took full custody of their daughter. His childhood is still a mystery. It is unknown as to whether Ms. Kazuyumi took back custody of her child.
Doctor Yukimura refused to answer any questions on her failure. Her only words were, "Mistakes happen. And what happened to Three was a mistake. It will never happen again." However, she immediately begin preparing for Candidate Four's SSP Injection.

Surprisingly the Council did not shut down the Soldier Project, however Candidate Four was fearful of going in. Wanting to back out, it is possible that he was threatened by either a Council Member or Doctor Yukimura. During an interview he stated. "They're watching us. I know it. Even if we wanted to go, they'd just kill us. That's probably what happened to that other guy. He wanted to leave, so they killed him." The interview was never recorded for the safety of the Candidate.
The next day Candidate Four was given the Lethal Injection, and as if learning from her mistake, Dr. Yukimura waited 76 hours before inserting the SSP Drug. When Four awoke after the re-animation he was stable. This had been the case for all the subjects, so following protocol, they went through the regular procedures. Everything was fine. The scientist were eager to celebrate, but the celebration would be cut short. Four had developed a taste for blood, luckily it wasn't human blood. During the first half hour of celebrating, one of the scientist went to retrieve paperwork when he found Four tearing apart a canary that had been used in recent studies.
Four was restrained by two ANBU on standby. Doctor Yukimura was furious. She wanted to know why everything was failing? She was thoroughly embarrassed. Ashitaka's removal from the project was suppose to be her time to shine. That's when she made the decision to remove all the negative from the next subject. She was aiming for perfection. Candidate Five would be perfect. Doctor Yukimura stated these exact words, "I will be recognized as the greatest scientist of all time. The Soldier Project will be my greatest success. Five will be my greatest success. I will get it right."
On the matter of Four, he refused to eat anything unless it was raw animals. The scientist were afraid he would turn on them, therefor he remained locked up without any freedom, like his brothers One and Two who got along fine. Two was the idol for the moment. If it had been up to Dr. Yukimura, she would get rid of him. He was the star of the show and thee key token that quote, "That fool Ashitaka created."

Background Information
Born originally as Kaden Ash, Erik changed his name after being accused of assassinating a war lord. He joined the Stealth, because it was as far as possible from his home which is located just east of the Crested. Little is known about the ANBU, but he did have much success on each of his missions. Joining the Soldier Project was an out for being taken into custody once his true identity was found out. Erik would soon be known as Subject 6409431 and then Five.

The scientist chose to go back to square one, starting with the SSP Drug. They figured the drug was the cause of their failure. Holding off for a year before their next experiment, they worked to alter the drug. This however would result in mass failure. Subject 6409431 would turn on the scientist, rampaging throughout the building, killing everyone, including his own brothers. The following recording was recorded by Head Doctor Nina Yukimura.
Five massacred nearly everyone, including One and Four. There were only eighteen survivors out of the forty scientist that remained. It was thanks to Two that they were able to eliminate Five. Head Doctor Nina Yukimura was killed in the incident.
Where the scientist has believed that taking out all of the negative factors in the SSP Drug would make things better, this was not true. However, no conclusion was ever made as to why there was such a negative effect on Five. Because Dr. Yukimura was killed in the process, a new doctor had to be found, but with Yukimura's violent subject results, no one was willing to take the job. The Project was shut down for two years.
