Konohana sat on the couch in the main part of the akatsuki, a book in hand. She'd been reading up on some new nature-based jutsu recently. It was amazing what kind of jutsu were out there. So far she'd only met two akatsuki, the one who recruited her, Zeo, and the one who had appeared to be recruited into the akatsuki at the same time she had, Ken. Surprisingly she hadn't seen or met any of the other akatsuki since she'd gotten there. She'd only gotten there a few hours ago though. Zeo'd told her that it was all up to Deidara on whether or not she was really in the akatsuki or not. So she guessed that for the time being she was waiting on him. It was late afternoon, already getting somewhat dark out. She'd heard that Deidara'd only came back to the akatsuki about a week before today. It was odd since she'd never even known he'd left in the first place.

Ken walked in and sat down heavily on the couch, he had just walked around outside of the hideout and now it had started to fog up slightly out there so he just came in, guessing it might rain soon. He glanced over at Kono, the girl who had joined the Akatsuki at the same time as him, or really it should be said the opposite way, he joined when she did. "Hi" He almost whispered, not wishing to disturb her from her book too much. Ken loved to read, or he thought he did, he wasn't too sure. But oh well, no need to worry about such small details as that. He suddenly snapped back to attention realizing he was rambling on in his head absentmindedly, well, not really absentmindedly sense he was thinking, oops.

Deidara walked out of his room. It had been an entire week since he had arrived once again at the Akatsuki's. He shook his head and gave a sigh. Was it worth coming back? He thought back on what had happened while he was gone and what happened when he returned. All in all it was, he guessed. Wasn't being given a second chance worth it? Deidara rubbed his face with his hand and dropped the subject all together when he entered the room with two of the newest Akatsuki. Ken and Kono, he hadn't quite approved of them being in that Akatsuki yet and guessed it was time for to see if they were 'Akatsuki Material'. That was new to him. Shaking his head he looked at the two of them. "Welcome to the Akatsuki, I haven't had a chance to propely introduce myself," he said in a voice that made it seem like he didn't want to be there trying to approve two kids to an orginization that anihilated anything that wasn't up to it's standards. "I'm Deidara, leader of the Akatsuki, and decider of whether you'll be joining us completely or being laid out for the vultures," he said. This was like the old Deidara. Dry and somewhat cold at times. Calm and enforcing, straight-forward. He was back and he wasn't going to start slacking off for a bunch of newcomers.

Kono looked up from her book at Ken only for an instant. "Hey," she said calmly and went back to her book. She'd have to keep up this little act. She looked up from her book again when Deidara came in, trying to keep the coldness from her eyes. This was the first time she'd ever encountered Deidara in a non-hostile manner, which might've changed soon if she wasn't careful. She looked up at Deidara as he stood in front of them. "I'm Konohana," she said, staying sitting. She needed to have guts when facing him, just, not too much guts.

Deidara looked at the girl. She'd given her name and nothing more and Deidara expected nothingless. He wanted members who atleasted showed some dignity because those without it were worthless to him, no more than begging dogs on the streets. "Why are you here," he asked her. His tone had changed from bored to cold and dry. He wanted to see if this girl would go any farther with her boldness.

Kono figured he wouldn't stop at her name. Why would he? He wasn't a half bad leader, from what she'd heard anyways. She gave a shrug. "I'm not welcome anywhere else, and besides. It's the one place I haven't been. I plan on staying. That is, if I'm in," she said, keeping eye contact with him. She wondered for a moment if she wasn't going a bit overboard, but then again, keeping up this attitude had to be the hardest part of it all, right?

Deidar gave a slight grin. This kid had it coming, but today was the day that decided whethere she was in or permenantly out. The Akatsuki were kind of like a hotel. If you do good you can check in and check out, but if you didn't do so well then you checked in, but you never check out. "Sounds good enough," he said to Kono. "You're in, for the time being, but slip up and you'll regret that you decided you wanted to explore here. Keep in mind that curiousity kills the cat." He then looked at Ken. "You're turn, why are you here?"

A smirk crossed over Kono's face. "You got it boss," she said in something of a playful, yet sarcastic tone. Thank god she'd managed to pull that off. Kono's gaze followed to Ken. She wondered if this poor sap would make it in unscathed, if at all.

Ken closed his eyes after konohana's greeting and when he opened the again, Deidara was standing there, he look up into his eyes from where he was sitting. "I'm Ken, and I came here for the simple reason of because I wanted to." Ken's gaze wasn't cold, but it showed not a single emotion that he felt, the same went for his voice, mechanical. Although he wasn't too sure what to call the emotion he did feel, or maybe it was many of them at the same time. Ken blinked slowly and opened his eyes once more so he could take in Deidara. His eyes matched his voice, calm, straight-forward, and like he didn't really want to be here, although he had already pretty much told them all of that. Ken leaned forward and put his elbows on his knees, awaiting Deidara's answer.

Deidara gave a small shrug. This kid had already made it onto his bad list. (Nothing personal.) Just because he wanted to....who exactly did this kid thing he was. Deidara was tired of kids coming in here who were full of themselves. He put his hand to the side of his head. He wasn't in the mood for little brats, he wasn't a babysitter. "Listen kid, I asked a uestion, you don't answer with 'because I felt like it unless you want to end up begging for you life on teh first day you get in, got it?"

Ken closed his eyes as he listened to deidara talk, closing himself off to examination. "I'm sorry for answering that way and I'm sorry if you think I'm obnoxious for saying it. But that truthfully is no other answer, I have no real reason. My family lived in a very small village and i ran away after I became sick of my father beating me all the time. For a while I just wandered, and then i heard about the Akatsuki. I had never heard of it in my tiny village, cut off from the world, and I had learned a few skills while I was wandering. So I decided to try to join. I had ofcourse heard of the villages from all the rogues I met, but they didn't sound...right. I guess I really just don't like really crowded, big places, since I'm not used to them. And now that I've rambled on for a while I think I'll shut up." Ken had his eyes closed through this speech and opened them once again at the end.

Itachi walked ino the room and looked at the two kids. "Joining the Akatsuki I see," he said dryly. "Hope you're sure about this decision. When Deidara is done with you, you'll meet me in my room for a quick overview of what goes on in here, understand," Itachi said with a small flicker in his eyes. It held a bit of bitterness and a bit of flustration. With that he walked to the edge of the room and crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall.

Kono looked at Ken as he gave his life's story. Big whoop. She knew tons of people like him. Err....she had known tons of people like him. She looked at the new guy who'd walked in and recognized him as Itachi Uchiha. She'd heard alot about him, including the fact that he was extremely dangerous. Leaning back on the couch, she looked at him. "And who're you?" she asked calmly. She'd do as he said and meet him in his room for the...overview of what goes on in the akatsuki. He'd know that soon enough though. First she had to play up her role, as always.

Itachi looked at Kono as she asked who he was. "You'll learn all that once he's done with you," he said in a mild tone. He was still in a bad mood because things were getting worse than anyone understood beside Deidara and himself.
