Satomi walked through the village with his head down. He had been very self concious lately. He kept thinking about every little detail in his life. For some reason nothing added up, but the tthing that really bugged him was that he couldn't find a reason to think that being a ninja was worth it. All they did was fight and do missions. What was the point? To protect a village and the people who lived there? For money? Fame? Satomi sighed. It didn't matter because either way, it was his life. He gave a half hearted smile and walked continiously until he reached a spot near the edge of the village near a quiet place where he could think for a while. Leaning against the rusted building he put his arms behind his head and closed his eyes trying to decifer the life that was currently living.

Kymir walked down the road with Taske and Renma. They were his two best friends. He'd gotten along with them during school which was a suprise because he hated everyone. When they got to the end of the road he they stopped and said their goodbyes. Taske went right, Renma to the left, and Kymir went on down the dirt road. He was going to go find a nice to read but stopped when he saw a guy sitting there sleeping. Kymir blinked. Wasn't that the guy who had saved his life not once but twice! Kymir walked up to him and tapped him on the arm. "Excuse me," Kymir said turning his head to the side. If it was one thing he hated doing it was saying thank you.

Satomi looked up to see Kymir standing over him. When the kid turned his head Satomi wondered if ever was okay. "Huh, what's up, Kymir isn't it," Satomi said. This boy was the last person Satomi expected to see, but lately they had been running into one another more often. It was strange, but he didn't mind. "What do you need?"

Kymir looked at Satomi then looked at the ground. "I just wanted to thank you for helping me back then," he said quietly. "I never got the chance...." This was a real pain in the ass for Kymir because he never, ever liked to apologize because it made him feel very weak. And being weak was the last thing he wanted to be. This was not fair....

(Alot of Death Ninja seem to have issues, that's very ironic)

Satomi looked at Kymir and smiled. "No need to thank me, I just do it because that's my job as a ninja of the Death Valley. I must help and protect other villagers within this village." Satomi sighed. There it goes again, he told himself. The law of a ninja. Protect those who are like us, kill those who are not. Is that really the Way of a Shinobi?

(Lol, no kidding.)

Kymir turned to face Satomi. "Wish you would have told me that sooner," he mumbled. He then shrugged and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Why are just sitting here," he asked. "Don't you have things to do," he asked. He then blinked as something came to mind. "Hey Satomi, can I see your scythe?" It had been really cool when Kymir saw him using it during the Akatsuki fight. Maybe he'd become a scythe Master too. He couldn't help but grin at the thought.

Satomi looked at Kymir as he asked the question. "Well, I was just trying to figure some things out," he stated with an innocent smile. It wasn't completely a lie, but trying to discuss the matter of life to a child was pointless. "My scythe? Sure." Satomi hadn't met many people who would want to see a scythe. He'd doubted that Kymir would remember it at all, let alone his name. Standing up he removed teh scythe from his back and showed Kymir.

Kymir looked at Satomi as he stood and showed him the scythe. Kymir had to admit it was one of the coolest things he'd ever seen. "Um, does it take alot of practice to learn how to use a scythe," he asked. Kymir had never been interested in one thing. He usually just stuck to reading books and doing absolutely nothing with his life except for making up the the Death Villagers for what he'd done as an orphan.

Satomi smiled. "Well, I've been practicing with this scythe since I was about six," he said. "And I'm still learning how to use it and I'm seventeen now," he said, "So you could say it takes alot of work." Satomi looked at Kymir. "Maybe it would have taken less time had I not been practicing puppet mastery at the same time," he said.

Kymir was mystified. "Are you serious! That's eleven years," he said wide eyes. "And you do puppet mastery? You're amazing. How much stuff do you do?" He asked. "Um, Satomi, do you think I have what it takes to learn how to use a scythe?" he asked. "I mean I know I'm only three, but I can handle it."

Satomi smiled as the kid marveled over the little things that he was trying to accomplish. "I'm not that amazing," he said. "I just work hard is all." He said. Satomi then looked over his glasses at Kymir as he asked him if he had what it took to use a scythe. "I'll be truthful," he said. "Anyone can use a scythe, but only the one who spills his own sweat and blood to master it, can truly be called a Scythe Master."

Kymir's playfulness faded from his eyes as Satomi told him that only few people could be called a Scythe Master. Looking off to the side he wondered if Satomi had answered his question or not. Turning back he said, "Will you train me to become a Scythe Master?" He knew Satomi was still a Chuunin and all, but he was determined to try and learn. He needed something to do with his life, and it would keep him out of trouble, hopefully.

Satomi looked at Kymir half shocked as the kid asked him to train him. "I'm not sure if I can do that," he said. "Isn't Takashi your sensei," he asked. "I mean, it'd be nice to train you, you seemed willing to try, but..." Satomi looked at Kymir. "Um...maybe we can try," he said. "I'll talk to Takashi for you," he said. He then smiled and looked at Kymir. "If I do train you, you have to promise to take everything I throw at you," he said. "But you must continue training as a ninja."

Kymir frowned at Takashi's name. He hated that guy. And he was starting to dislike Satomi as he told him it was probably impossible. Right when Kymir went to say something Satomi suddenly said he'd give it a try. "Okay," he said agreeing to Satomi's terms. "Am I going to accompany you to the Snow?" He asked. He'd never traveled that far.

Satomi looked at Kymir. "I don't know about that," he said. "The Snow is a few days away from here," he said. "Are you sure you'd be up for it?" He asked. Not only that but Satomi wasn't sure of when he'd need to leave. He'd have to plan this out carefully. Looking at Kymir he wondered if the kid could handle the trip, he didn't want to put his life in any unnessary danger.

Kymir looked at Satomi. "Of course I can handle it," he said. "You can use it as a test to see how far I am in my training," he said putting his hands behind his head and grinning. "I mean, it's not like someone's going to attack us or anything, and even if they do, we can handle them." Kymir shrugged and looked at Satomi.

Satomi smiled. "Okay then, two weeks from now we'll head out. We'll mark it as a C-Rank," he said. "Don't be late, we'll meet at 8:00am infront of the Kage's building." He said as he put his scythe up. "Well, I'll see you then, see you later." He said walking off. "And Kymir, pack for a fight," he said.

Kymir wanted to jump into the air and scream yippee, but he was too mature for that. "Okay, see you then," he said as he turned for home. "My first mission," he said feeling extremly confident. Takashi had refused to take him on the other, but he didn't care. This was a C-Rank mission. He didn't need no stupid D-rank.
