Deita's eyes widened slightly when his sword hit. He hadn't expected that at all. When Bat went to bring his blade up, Deita jumped backwards, almost falling as he went. But Deita planted his sword on the ground behind him as he fell and pushed himself over it so that he flipped and landed on his feet further from Bat. From the way Bat'd swung his sword, Deita could tell he was fast. But why hadn't he dodged Deita's sword? He couldn't figure it out. Was Bat some kind of masochist? Deita nearly shuddered at the thought, but remembered he was being watched. Deita wanted to get this fight over quick. He was getting a little tired, and his movements would slow soon if he didn't think of something fast. Then it hit him. It was something that the Elders of his clan would use in wars to protect the village. He'd never properly learned how to do it, but he would make it work somehow. Deita allowed his chakra to flow into his blade, making it glow slightly again. Then Deita ran at Bat, letting the tip of his sword cut lightly into the ground. Every few feet or so, a small chakra pulse could be felt from the sword. Deita swung his sword upwards at Bat. What Bat, and the rest of the akatsuki, didn't know was that Deita had placed small chakra mines into the ground along the battlefield. He knew where they were and would have to watch his footing and also had to be careful not to make it apparent that he was avoiding stepping in certain spots. Because when stepped on, the chakra mines embedded in the ground would violently explode. Deita had a knack for blowing things up. It tended to work in his advantage, so he stuck to it.

Bat grinned when Deita seemed to be bit surprised. "Won't happen again," he said as Deita moved away from him. When the kid charged him Bat turned his sword and dunked under Deita's. He came up with a kick that was meant to hit Deita in the chest. He could help but let a laugh escape him. This was far too enjoyable for his taste. He was going to get a chance to completely destroy an Akatsuki without restriction.

Deita knew that Bat would probably dodge that attack, but then again the main thing behind that attack was to plant his mines. Deita took the kick to his chest and rolled back on the ground a few times, catching himself before he hit where he knew a mine was. He'd lead Bat right to the mines. But with that kick, Deita had lost his breath for a few moments. When he caught it again, he quickly took a few kunai out and threw them at Bat, not moving from his spot. He wanted Bat to come to him.

Bat wasn't satisfied by this fight. Having to show mercy to Deita because he was Deidara's pet was pissing him off. He wanted this boy to suffer, to beg for his life though he wouldn't be granted the joy of living. Bat sighed. He then used Nightshade to block the shuriken. "Weak, pathetic, miserable, human child." Bat said. "No shuriken will stop me," he said and stepped towards Deita and slashed his sowrd down into the earth so that the ground split underneathe Deita.

This wasn't getting anywhere. Bat wouldn't come towards him. As the ground split underneath him, Deita's eyes widened and he jumped off to the side, almost losing his balance for a moment. But he managed to stay on his feet. Deita was getting tired. Taking his sword in hand, Deita let a small amount of invisible static surround his blade. He was going to try a trick, one he hadn't before. The static wouldn't do anything yet, but was just a preface for something else. Running at Bat, Deita swung his sword at him, hoping that Bat would block it with his own weapon. He'd been careful with his stepping, but luckily, since it was his own chakra, he could "see" where the mines were planted. To Bat it might've just looked like Deita was running unsteadily.

Bat swung his blade as Deita came running at him. He would break the squirt in two. The little monkey stood no change against him. "I'll kill you," he said. Yeah, he was just saying that because it was what was on his mind. He wasn't really going to kill the guy. Deidara had told him not to, which was real annoying. Bat didn't fight to let his victims live, he fought to kill. As Deita attacked he blocked with his sword.
