Kazuma wouldn't believe it even if Xantrex himself had admitted. Xantrex was not a traitor. She was just pissed that he'd kicked her ass. That was all. Kazuma turned his attention back to Deidara who was considering whether or not he would break Xantrex's arm or just leave him with it dislocated. And that's when he asked some kid Kazuma didn't know, but when Deidara called him Deita, he understood. Xan had told him Deita was under Deidara's protection or something like that. Kazuma watched the younger boy carefully. When he told Deidara that Xan wouldn't be much use without both arms, he was relieved. Now, the question was, would Deidara listen to Deita?

If there was one thing about Deidara choosing Deita to be his successor, it was that Deita wasn't as cruel as Deidara. Hopefully their leader wouldn't be able to change that. One Deidara was bad enough, but a second, they'd never survive. Jay only glanced at Krissy when the girl called her granny. It was better than being called old she supposed. Yes, she too had considered Xan to be a traitor, but it was unlikely. She shrugged it off. She wouldn't influence Kazuma's thought process by telling him the opposite of what Krissy assumed. It was his job to know whether or not he could trust the very person who had brought him here. Looks like you'll survive another day Xantrex, she thought with a small smile. Let's just hope your apprentice is smart enough to ignore Krissy.

"Damn, you're too soft. I should have asked Krissy." Deidara was truly disappointed that his prodigy had not developed a coldness like he had. This required more work. "You'd better thank him later, Xantrex." Deidara loosened his grip on Xantrex's arm. "I actually wanted to see your prideful as scream." He snatched Xantrex's arm, pulling it out of socket. "This lesson is over." He started towards the hall so he could return to his room, but stopped. "I almost forgot, Xantrex, Kazuma, I've found you a test subject." He turned with a smile. "Kazuma, you have sisters back home, correct? And if I'm not mistaken, they're a hassle, setting the bar high and leaving you at the bottom. How about you wipe out the competition. Kill one of them and the other shall be your test subject. That way, you'll never be compared to them again." Deidara was watching the boy's face for a reaction. "Oh, and please don't make a scene. I'd hate for Micah to think our little agreement is up. I believe that is all." He started off again, but stopped, yet again. "No, there was one more thing." He gazed at Xantrex. "If you ever lay your hands on my third again I will personally kill you. Good day." With that he left.

(....Deidara, you're effin evil. )

Kazuma felt that this was his fault. It was only after Deidara said that he'd found him a test subject did he perk up. However, it was not what he expected. As Deidara started talking about his sisters, his excitement died. Kazuma's suddenly felt sick. Had he just been told to kill his sisters? He almost looked at Krissy, this was her fault! She'd gone back and told Deidara that he said he wouldn't care! She was no more than a selfish traitor. Kazuma's anger was replaced by a sudden weakness. He wasn't sure if he could stand, his legs felt really weak, like jello. He needed to sit. He hadn't signed up for this. He wanted to quit. Kazuma's gaze dropped to the ground. I can't...I can't kill them. I can't use them as a test subject. Why couldn't it be anyone else? What am I going to do? Can't we just use a wanna be?

PostSubject: Re: Lesson Nine: Failure Is Not An Option    Lesson Nine: Failure Is Not An Option - Page 2 EmptyWed May 30, 2012 8:35 pm

(Heh. You ain't seen evil yet.)

Krissy frowned when Deita pretty much told Deidara not to do it. "Tch, he's not much use to us with both his arms either," she protested under her breath. She did grin a bit however, when Deidara said he'd have been better off asking her. He got that right. Her grin widened when Deidara pulled Xantrex's arm. This was great. Fantastic actually. It was really too bad that Deidara hadn't broken it though. And then came Deidara's announcement of having found a test subject. Kazuma's sisters. Krissy didn't know what they needed a test subject for, but clearly it wasn't going to be anything good. For in the next few moments, Kazuma had paled considerably, and the poor kid almost looked ready to burst into tears. At least, the way Krissy saw it. Another perfect opportunity! And Krissy was about to take it, until Deidara stopped one last time and said there was one more thing. The pink haired girl blinked and looked at Deidara when he threatened Xantrex. She grinned. Ah, clearly Xantrex was now at the rock bottom of the food chain. This day couldn't possibly get any better! When Deidara left, Krissy went over to Kazuma, with her head tilted and a big smile on her face, one she just couldn't wipe off. "Hey there Kazuma. You don't look too hot. You sure you're going to be able to follow orders this time?" she asked. She was going to try and provoke a fight with him, instead of letting him go help his teacher. Because she wanted to see just what this kid was made of.

(.........Again I say, FML.)

Xantrex swallowed when Deidara started pushing his shoulder back in what he figured was an attempt to break it. And it would've broken too, if it hadn't been for Deidara's little prodigy. Xantrex had figured out some time ago that forcing excess amounts of chakra to a single area in the body could numb it completely. He wasn't going to have his arm broken just because he couldn't hold back from flinching, so he'd done just that. However, when Deidara relaxed his grip, Xantrex relaxed his chakra from the area in relief. What he didn't expect was for Deidara to pull his arm out of it's socket the very next moment. The feeling had still been returning to his arm when it had happened, but the feeling was enough of a shock to cause an audible gasp of pain to escape Xantrex, and to cause his eyes to momentarily widen in shock and pain. He even had to force himself to pay attention to what Deidara said before he left. A test subject. One of Kazuma's sisters. And then a threat to stay away from Krissy. Right. Or rather, at least to not fight her again. When Deidara left, Xantrex left out a shaky breath and leaned against the wall, sliding down with slightly labored breaths. He was trying to force the chakra back into his arm, but it wasn't working. The shock had faded, so now the pain was just throbbing. Even so, Xantrex didn't like it. And he couldn't put it right by himself. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the wall. He felt so damn useless. This was just humiliating.

Jaymaru flinched for Xantrex when Deidara pulled his arm out of socket. She'd been a doctor at one point and a great medical specialist, but never had she seen this happen before. It was sickening. When Deidara started out she started for Xantrex, but stopped when Deidara came back. The threat made her wonder if he'd heard Bat's little comment. Didn't matter. Slowly, she went over to Xan. Casually she looked down at him. "Do you want help or not?" She asked. She wasn't going to act like she'd helped him before, she didn't want his pride ruined any more than it already was.

Xantrex heard someone walking towards him. The footsteps weren't that of a child, and if Deidara had already left, that really only left Jaymaru to be the one walking towards him. He supposed it could have been Zeo, but that guy had never been one to mess in other people's affairs. So when Jaymaru spoke and proved Xantrex's hunch correct, he didn't even open his eyes. "Please," he said plainly. His voice almost sounded strained. Had it been anyone other than Deidara, he would have definitely fought back, and at least saved himself in terms of being utterly and completely humiliated, but this. This was something new for him. He didn't think he could fall any lower right now. So why not accept help this time?

Kazuma heard Krissy. It registered in his mind. He got angry. "How about you fuck off you pint sized pipsqueak. I'm so sick of your bull. You try and act like a friend and then you try and get me killed. You think Xantrex would have recruited me if I wasn't smart enough to see through your little act?" Kazuma frowned. "If I do look sick, it's because I'm constantly seeing your face." Kazuma had clearly lost any and all nervousness. He wasn't being bold because Deidara was out of the room, he probably would have done the same if the guy was still here. He was just fed up with Krystalia. "So, stop questioning my abilities to follow orders and go bother someone else before you become the trashcan that holds whatever puke may come up. I'm sure it'd fit you anyway."

Bat started to laugh like a maniac when Xantrex got his arm messed up. "Should have broke it," he cackled. The demon got off the couch and went over to Halo. "Hi there Fallen, excuse me, Halo, why didn't you sit by me, we could have made a perfect commentary duo." Bat had the biggest grin on his face. "Are you going to join the hunt. I am. It'll be fun. I won't even be upset if you end up taking my position as Captain. It's just a title." Bat curiously looked at the new guy as he started to go off on Krissy. "Foolish human boy. He'll be dead in the next few moments. Back to you Halo. Are you going?"

While Krissy was shocked by Kazuma's sudden outburst, she was already in too good a mood. So actually, his outburst only made her laugh. She couldn't help it. It was hilarious, this once nervous kid suddenly trying to act all tough. For once, Krissy actually looked like the little kid that she really was. When she finally calmed down enough to talk, her speech was laced with giggles. She actually had to wipe tears from her eyes. "I-is that it then? One order to kill your beloved sisters and you crack?" She took a moment to catch herself then looked at Kazuma with a grin. "You sure talk tough dontcha?" Another chuckle. "Ahaha, well, I guess you would, considering you don't actually know who you're dealing with." It wasn't a moment after she'd finished speaking that a kunai was in her hand and aimed to sweep across the side of Kazuma's face. Whether she'd found it funny or not, Krissy wasn't going to allow some newbie to talk to her like that and get away unscathed. In fact, she might even give him a scar or two out of this. Or three.

Jaymaru felt bad for Xantrex. He didn't even hesitate to answer. She bent down next to him and looked his shoulder over. Definitely dislocated. She stood up and went to get some bandages and pain killers. When she got back she knelt back down and handed Xan two pain killers. "They work fast, but they won't knock you out," she said. A dislocated arm didn't require such extremity. She waited for him to take them, as she did, she heard Kazuma. Her eyes widened. "Xantrex, if you can comprehend what I'm saying, tell you student to calm down before Krissy kills him or worse, Deidara comes back in here." It didn't help that Krissy had just provoked the poor kid by bringing up his sisters and then pulled a kunai on him.

Deita swallowed when Deidara said that he was too soft. He seemed to shrink in his seat at his teacher's words. Deita had never actually been one to be cruel to anyone, and it seemed as though that was the exact opposite of what Deidara wanted. When his sensei left the room, Deita glanced at Xantrex. Was that guy really a traitor? Sure, Deita hated him, but...The green eyed boy sighed. He didn't want to stay in the hideout right now. This was the first time he'd seen something like this from the Akatsuki. It was terrible. He knew that they did bad things to the villages, but within their own group? Even now, fights were breaking out between the members. Deita suddenly felt scared. And the blond guy didn't even try to fight back. No one had. Which meant...this was a regular thing. Deita shivered. Just who were these lessons given to anyways? People who deserved them, right? He slowly pushed himself from his seat, trying to make himself as small and unnoticable as possible before leaving the room, and then the hideout altogether. The hideout was in the side of the mountain. And right now, Deita felt like climbing. He was used to the moutains, and he loved climbing, so this would help clear his mind. So long as no one paid any mind to his walking out.

Xantrex didn't move as Jaymaru went to get the pain killers and bandages, though he opened his eyes when Kazuma went off on Krissy. He didn't look surprised, but moreso annoyed. Everything was so damn loud. He swallowed the pain killers when they were given to him without a word until Jaymaru told him to tell Kazuma to calm down. "Krissy won't kill him. She might hurt him a bit, but she doesn't kill within the Akatsuki," he said plainly, his eyes slightly narrowed. He'd noticed that pattern soon after he'd returned from his mission in the Magma. Xantrex had no fears of Deidara coming back in. He usually didn't preoccupy himself with member squabbles. Of course, this was Krissy, so who knew. Xantrex had started noticing a pattern when it came to Krissy, but he wouldn't speak his mind on it. It would get him killed in the worst way. If it came to it though, and Kazuma got carried away and somehow managed to beat Krissy, then he'd step in. But for now he was going to leave things be. He was still feeling humiliated, and he wasn't about to belittle himself any further.

(-__- What do you mean you'll step in if I manage to beat her? If I do beat her, stay out of it.)

She laughed at him. What kind of sick, twisted game was she playing at? It barely registered in Kazuma's mind that a kunai had been swiped across his face. He felt the stinging, it hurt, but she'd laughed at him. In his face, as if he wasn't even there. "Or maybe, I do know who I'm dealing with. Some spoiled punk that thinks she can get her way because she's so Deidara's personal maid. If he doesn't want to do something you're always their to clean it up, aren't you." Kazuma gave a huff. "I'm going to my room. I don't have to deal with this." He looked as if he was going to walk away, but turned. "On second thought." He swung his fist directly at the pink haired girl's face. "I think I'll stay."

Halo watched the scene unfold in slight horror. What the hell was this? So this was how the Akatsuki was kept in line? Halo had heard that when the Akatsuki was failing, it had been because Deidara had left. If this was how things went, why would they ever want such a person back? Even if the Akatsuki had been falling, this was...The dark haired girl cringed when Deidara messed up the guy's arm. She didn't know him too well. In fact, she didn't really know anyone in the Akatsuki too well. Maybe Phoenix, and Bat, but that was really it. All she knew about this one was that his name was Xantrex. When Bat came over and talked to her, she gave him her usual curt glare. "I didn't sit by you because I didn't want to smell you," she told him. She was never kind to him, maybe that's why it was so easy to get along with him. Kinda. It was just her usual attitude towards him though. It's not like it was anything new. "How can you laugh at something like this, he's your teammate," she said coldly. "Yeah. I'm going," she replied curtly in response to his question about the mission. "Who said I'd want a Captain position anyways," she said, crossing her arms, but staying sitting on the couch.

She didn't know if he was just too tired to care, or if he really knew what he was talking about, Jaymaru trusted Xantrex, so she let it be. Taking his arm in one hand, and putting other on his shoulder, she looked at him with a blank expression. "This might hurt a bit." She pushed his arm up and towards his shoulder. When it popped she got to work on placing his arm in a sling. At least I didn't waste my time healing a dead man, she thought with a sigh. But Kazuma...Krissy is going to kill him.

Bat looked pleased with Halo response. "I do not smell. If anything smells it's these humans. So many of them in such a confined space." Bat shrugged when she asked how he could laugh at this. "Simple. It's funny." He patted her on the back. "My only teammate is you. We're partners, while everyone else has their own partners." Bat didn't get why she was so negative about everything. "The main reason for going is to be Captain, get with the program Halo."

Halo simply shook her head. "You do too smell. You smell like demon. And you wreak." Yeah, so no, she wasn't being nice at all. She wasn't even going to try, because Bat didn't mind it. In fact, it seemed that was really the only way to get along with him. "It's not funny at all. It's cruel," she countered, wincing mockingly when he patted her on the back. "Don't touch me." It was starting to become that, Halo sometimes forgot the reason she was here to begin with. While she, at first, had come here to gain Bat's trust, now she was just here because people accepted her. And, as much as she would never admit it, sometimes it was cool hanging with Bat. She glared at him lightly when he told her to get with the program. "What if my main reason is just for keeping others from becoming Captain?" she said. "Besides, what possible proof could we bring back to say that we've delivered the message? An arm? A leg?" She paused when she realized something. "If you answer that with a yes and yes, I will hurt you."

Xantrex wasn't too worried about Krissy killing Kazuma. It probably wouldn't happen. And besides, one of the real reasons for letting him fight was that he wanted to see what Kazuma could actually do in action. However, when Kazuma turned and punched Krissy, his eyes widened a bit. Maybe she would kill him after all. He gave a glance to Jaymaru as she said that it would hurt a bit. The only thing hurt right now was his pride. And it was fatally wounded. Although, a small gasp did escape him, followed by a nearly inaudible groan, when she pushed his arm back into place. "I can do without a sling..." he said plainly. He was sure that given an hour or so he'd be able to move it again no problem. He just didn't want both his arms slinged. It would look ridiculous, and on top of that, there'd be no way to get his arm out when it was fine again. He paused and looked back at Krissy and Kazuma. "Thanks though." His pride was already shot for the moment. And besides, he wasn't as ungrateful as he let on.

He hadn't even reacted when the kunai cut across his face. Had her laughing really gotten to him? The mere thought made Krissy grin. She was pissed at him, but for some reason, he amused her. She raised an eyebrow as he started going off again, frowning when he got to the maid part. What had he just said? She wasn't sure if she'd heard him right. Because if she had, he'd just signed his own death warrant. When he turned to go to his room, Krissy went to go after him, but that was her mistake, because the next moment he'd turned and punched her. Her head turned, and her eyes were a bit wide in shock. After a moment, she straightened up and dusted herself off nonchalantly. She was glad she didn't have her cloak on, because it would just slow her down now. When she finally looked at him, she didn't look pleased. Actually, her expression was rather blank. As if she was trying to figure something out about him. She gave a small huff of a sigh. "You know. Clearly you aren't as smart as you say you are. Because if you were, I'd have to assume you suicidal for just having been given the order to murder your sisters. Because you've pretty much just killed yourself," she told him. She'd been careful to use the word murder rather than kill. The moment after she'd finished speaking, she'd gone to land a punch in Kazuma's gut, followed by a roundhouse kick. She was suddenly glad the walls were made of stone. He'd be hitting them a lot. For the next moment, Krissy's eyes had flashed silver and her chain belt unravelled itself from around her waist, floating idly in the air around her. It had been a while since she'd used this technique.

Zeo was silent throughout the entire thing. There was no point in him being here any longer. He was a bit disturbed by the way everyone was acting. He got up and left without a word. Why couldn't people act civil? Being in the Akatsuki didn't mean they had to act like a bunch of animals.

Bat frowned. "And you smell like old angel dust." He crossed his arms. "How are you suppose to be an Akastuki and not even crack a smile when something bad happens. Be more like Krissy, you might get bumped up a rank." Bat gave a smirk when she asked what they could possibly bring back as proof. He leaned towards her. "I'll let you in on a little secret. Hybrid means wolf and and vampire. Bring some fur and a piece of his wing." He moved back. He already knew what he'd bring back, but he figured he could help Halo out a bit. "Who are you preventing from being Captain?"

Jaymaru shrugged. "Okay." She stood up and looked at Bat and Halo. Those two there were an odd pair. And then to the spot where Deita had been. Where had the child run off to. She shrugged and looked at Zeo. He looked like he was about to leave, and then he did. She looked back to Krissy and Kazuma. The two of them were going at it. She sighed. "I guess I'll just move along with my life and get something to eat." She went over to the kitchen, careful to avoid the fight.

Kazuma ignored Krissy's taunts. She was trying to get him into a blind rage. He wasn't his father. He was calm like his mother. Yes, he had gotten mad a few moments ago, he'd admit that, but he generally was calm. Kazuma doubled over as he was punched. Coughing, he had to think smart in order to dodge the kick. Yes, they were inside, but that didn't change the fact that the human body was made of water and Kazuma had learned to manipulate water. How much or how little was a mystery to him, but he was going to try it. Pulling the water from the air, Kazuma made a wall of snow to block the kick. He then punched right through the wall to where he expected Krissy to be.

Krissy blinked when her kick hit a wall of snow. It was a bit thin, so it crumbled easily enough, but that didn't change the fact that her kick hadn't hit. Kazuma's punch on the other hand, did hit, causing Krissy to frown. "The hell was that?" She was referring to the wall of snow. She hadn't even seen him use a jutsu. And that had been a really rapid transformation of water from gas to solid. Or, semi-solid. At least, that was what Krissy was guessing had happened. He couldn't just make snow appear out of thin air, he had to have used a medium, right? Krissy wondered how badly she should hurt him. Should she leave him a little wounded, or mostly immobile? Hm, choices. In the mean time, Krissy didn't slack, and turned to punch Kazuma again, though instead of floating idly around her, Krissy's chain belt shot forward in an attempt to grab Kazuma and toss him against the wall. The amount of strength Krissy could use her chain for was infinitely more than the amount of strength her child form could muster. It was the same if she'd been in her older form too. Of course, it's not like the chain could lift boulders.
