(ouch...)

Serenity went to say that this was the first time that she'd seen it too, but stopped when she saw the lizard pick up a tree. Her eyes widened and she unintentionally stepped back, but couldn't because Felix had picked her up and jumped to a higher up branch. Then she felt their assent stop and Felix threw her up to the branch. She quickly caught onto it and held on tight, looking down as Felix was slammed to the ground by the lizard, who'd been yards away on a moment before. "I....guess it isn't slow..." she said quietly, mostly to herself. She watched the lizard for a moment, and, seeing that it was covered in armor, determined that it's only weak spot was its' head. "Felix, you okay?" she yelled to him. She knew he probably wasn't, but again, mortal side coming out. "I think it's only weak spot is its' head!" she yelled down to him. She then glanced down at her foot, the one that had the knife tucked away into her shoe. If she could get it, then hit the lizard just right....

(oh god, she's about to do something stupid...)

Felix's head was ringing. He'd barely heard Serenity as if he was okay. What did she think. Try getting pulled more than ten feet out of the air and slammed into the ground by something ten times your size at 30 miles and hour. Blinking twice he rolled over as the creature tried to step on him. "The head?" He looked at the creature. It was worth a try, but first he had to get up there. Standing up he moved behind a tree. "Any ideas of how I'm going to get up there," he called.

Serenity only looked around when Felix asked if she had any idea how to get up there. "Ummm..." She didn't want to tell him to try jumping to a tree again, that probably wouldn't work. "Uhhh...." She looked around again. "I don't know," she told him. And since he was behind a tree, he wouldn't see her do something stupid. Serenity quickly positioned herself on the branch so it was sitting between her legs so that she could hold on and hopefully not fall. She then brought the leg with the knife in the shoe up next to her and took the knife out of the sheath. She then took a second to aim at the lizards head and throwing it. Thank goodness her aim wasn't as bad as her fighting was. The knife was right on course.

The lizard looked up as Serenity threw the knife. It moved away and rammed her tree trying to knock her off. Reaching up with claws he tried to stretch farther up. Felix shook his head as he heard the creature take a differnt course. What had Serenity done? He moved from behind the tree and saw the thing was trying to get Serenity down. "You shouldn't turn your back on the real threat." Felix slid three kunai from each of his sleeves. Running at the thing he jumped into the air and threw two of the kunai at it's head. Since the creature was moving it hit its armour. Felix didn't stop there. He landed on a tree a split second later and sent another kunai, then jumping to the opposite side sent another kunai. With the last remaining kunai he sent them down underneath the armour of the lizard's back.

Serenity grabbed onto the branch tightly, wrapping her arms and legs around it as the lizard rammed into the tree. She couldn't help but give a small squeak of fear. Of course she missed, why wouldn't she have missed, it's not like she had bad luck or anything. She kept her hold onto the tree as Felix started hitting the creature with tons of kunai. She was completely terrified, but she'd had worse. The only problem with this situation was....how high up she was. She really, really didn't like heights.

The lizard barely noticed the kunai. He soon lost his patience with the tree and took to uprooting it from the ground. Felix hadn't expected the thing to just blow off the kunai, so they had to improvise. He'd have to go in directly. Quick as silver he moved towards the lizard and kicked it in the side of the head. The creature look at him and caught him in mid-air after the kick. SCreeching he clasped onto him for a moment before tossing him down and continuing. Felix landed awkwardly on the ground. "Serenity, you have to jump."

(LMFAO OF COURSE)

Serenity held onto the branch even tighter when the lizard just brushed off the kunai and started trying to uproot the tree. She looked down at Felix, her eyes wide as he told her she had to jump down. "You want me to what?!" she yelled down to him, still clasping onto the branch tightly. There was no way she was gonna jump down! She was way too high up! She swallowed and closed her eyes as she clasped onto the tree branch. Damn, why did we have to run into something so big? she thought, terrified.

"I want you to jump," he said. "Unless you want to end up smashed on the ground when he used that tree as a bat." Felix got up. "I can't peirce his armour and he's not going to be still enough for me to get a kunai in his head." Felix didn't have time to be explaining. This was urgent!

"That's what I thought you said," she said quietly. She swallowed and opened her eyes, looking off the side of the branch. Why did it have to be so far? After a second, she felt the tree jerk like it was almost out of the ground. With a small whine, Serenity unwrapped her arms from around the tree and swung her leg over the side of it and quickly slid herself down off the branch.

The lizard lifted the tree up just as Serenity had slid down. It smashed the tree into another and then went in search of the two beings thta it'd encountered. Felix quickly swept up Serenity and pulled her behind a tree. Putting his hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming. After a few moments the lizard gave up and left. Felix let Serenity go and gave a sigh. "Let's get a move on before it comes back."

Serenity landed on the ground, the fall not being as bad as she'd expected. When she felt something grab her, she nearly did scream, but then felt something cover her mouth. It was then that she figured out that it was Felix who'd snatched her up. She then nodded as he said that they should get a move on before it came back, sighing after it'd left. She looked around for a second before running to a tree and jumping up to grab her knife out of it. Good thing it hadn't been hard to spot. As she ran back to Felix, she slipped the knife back in its' casing, covering it again with her pant leg. She swallowed and stayed closer to Felix than she had when they'd first started out. She was near shaking. He couldn't imagine how much she hated heights.

Felix looked at her as she left him to retrieve something from the trees. Waiting for her, he looked for the path. Letting her take the lead he followed. He noticed she was closer than before and undeniably shaking. "What's wrong with you?" He asked.

Serenity didn't look at Felix as he looked at her and asked what was wrong with her. She shoved her hands into her pockets as she walked. "I. Hate. Heights," she told him plainly. Even though the thing was gone, she was still afraid that it would come back, and if it did, she wanted to be close to Felix, but she wasn't going to say that part of it aloud.

Felix shrugged. "Nig deal, it's over now," he said nonchalantly. Felix was reverting back to his old self. You know that one that didn't care about anyone. "So, we still resting at these caves?" He asked. He was hoping they were going to be a good distance from the point of battle. He didn't want to have to sleep with one eye open.

Serenity looked off to the side as he said big deal. "Yeah," she said when he asked if they were resting at the caves. They should've been able to make it there by nightfall still, even if the Unknown's time was unusual. She was glad that Felix hadn't yelled at her for doing something stupid, but even if he had, she wouldn't have apologized for it, because it had diverted the creatures' attention away from Felix, and that was all that counted. To her anyways. "I wonder what other creatures are out here," she said almost quietly. I think we found one of the reasons no one ever returned... she thought.

"I'm not standing around here to find out," he said as she whispered about what other creatures. Felix looked himself over as he walked. He'd have expected to have broken something, being thrown around like that and all, but he seemed to be fine. Giving a sigh he looked at Serenity. "What di you do to make it come after you?" He asked.

Serenity nodded in agreement when he said he didn't want to wait around to find out. She blinked and looked at him when he asked her what she'd done to make it come after her. She was sure that he still didn't know that she had a knife with her. She kind of hadn't really wanted him to know. She looked off to the side. "I...uh, I....kind of...attacked it," she said, saying the last part a bit quietly. She was sure that Felix would flip on her for that. She almost cringed after she'd told him, but held herself from doing so.

Felix moved infornt of her and stopped. "You what?" he asked. "Didn't I say not to do anything stupid before we came in here Serenity. I don't say this stuff for my own good." He looked at her through icy blue eyes. "Learn to follow directions every now and then," he snapped.

Serenity nearly ran into Felix when he suddenly stopped in front of her. She then took a small step back when he snapped at her. "Well it was going after you!" she said. She was glad he hadn't asked how she'd managed to try and attack him. "I wasn't gonna sit there and be some useless log while that thing threw you around like a ragdoll!" Even though she'd never showed it before now, she hated being so...so useless whenever Felix fought. She hated having to be protected. And worst of all, she absolutely despised being treated like some damsel in distress.

"Not to burst your bubble or anything lttle miss sunshine, but you kind of are a useless log when it comes to combat. All you do is get in the way when you think you're trying to help," he said. His voice was beginning to even out. "If you want to help out learn how to master your wind, until then, let the real ninja handle the job."

Serenity looked at him when he called her little miss sunshine and told her she was useless in combat. "I won't apologize for what I did," she told him. "My actions diverted the creature's attention from you. I won't apologize for that," she said, then started around him. "We should be getting to the cave soon," she told him. She hated being called useless, and even more than that, she hated actually being useless. Felix was right, which was why she'd changed the subject so quickly. She knew he was right. She wasn't in immortal personality anymore. She wouldn't sit there and apologize for trying to help.

Felix looked at Serenity as she just walked off. He didn't move form his spot. "You can go by yourself," he said. "I'm not going, knowing that you're going to do something stupid everytime we run into danger. I already know that you know that this is not a game, so I won't tell you. But unless you learn some kind of skill, I won't travel with you any farther. Being a medic isn't enough to survive, immortal or not."

Serenity stopped as Felix said he wouldn't go any farther with her. Her gaze immediately fell. "Suit yourself," she told him without looking at him. "And don't you worry about me surviving. I'm a treasure hunter. I'll make it there and back," she said, looking at him over her shoulder when she said that she was a treasure hunter. "You don't want to come, fine. But you're not stopping me from doing this," she told him. This was her passion, the one thing she loved doing above all else. Nothing would stop her. She wouldn't let it. She then turned and started walking again. "I'll see you back at the Crested," she said as she walked. She really didn't want to do this alone. There was no fun in finding treasures by yourself.

Felix didn't know what lied beyond that cave. He didn't want her going in there alone. He knew there was risk. Life was a risk, but this was Serenity. The only person he had left in all this madness. Whether she knew that or not. Felix sighed, he had to go. Turning around he silently followed her, almost like a shadow. Silent, voiceless, lifeless. Almost as if nothing was there.

Serenity looked behind her once more before she was going to keep her gaze in front of her. She had expected to see Felix's back, heading away down the path from which they came. But that wasn't what she saw. She saw Felix still behind her. She gave a smile. "I'm glad you decided to stay," she said, turning her gaze back in front of her. All her thoughts now were coming in olden speech. She was trying her best not to speak her thoughts aloud for fear that Felix would tease her on it again. She ws honestly, very very glad that Felix was coming with her.
