Serenity opened her eyes as Felix said thanks, then headed towards the door. "Felix," she said before he could leave completely. "May I...out of curiosity...inquire what it is?" she asked. Again with the olden speech, but this time it wasn't really her mortal side, but simply Serenity being buzzed. Most people couldn't tell the difference. Okay...so perhaps Serenity didn't hate Felix. She couldn't make up her mind. But she definitely no longer loved him...right? How coudl such simple questions be such a complex thing? She was beginning to believe that Aiko was right and that she'd simply been mad at Felix. Well, she still was mad at him for what he'd done. And she'd convinced herself that she wanted nothing to do with him. So what was the real reason she was asking about that silver case?

Felix stopped when she called his name. He looked over his shoulder. Why was she talking to him. "Just an old silver cigarette case," he said. "Nothing special," he said wiith a shrug and began out the door. No point in staying around. He did afterall say he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. Trying to procrastinate would only cause porblems.

Serenity blinked. "You...smoke?" she asked in surprise. Why are you still talking to him idiot? Don't you remember what he did to you? she thought to herself, but her curiosity overtook her. She never knew that Felix smoked. This probably came as much a shock to her as the fact that she used to drink came to Felix.

"Used to," he said. Used to happened to be a very long time ago. He hadn't smoked since he was about 200 and something years old. But lately he felt like he was tempted so he kept the case with him, but only one cigarette was in it. Felix shook his head and rubbed his hand through his hair, messing it up as he went. He didn't come for conversation.

"Oh..." was all she said, then her gaze fell with a small sigh. Why was she acting like this all of the sudden? She felt like...she wanted him to stay, even though she kept telling herself she didn't. She wouldn't make anymore conversation with him...they were both trying to go their separate ways now...but Serenity still, even after what'd happened, couldn't find it in herself to let him go. And he'd said he couldn't stand being in her presence. What had she done wrong that day though? After Hunter had shown up it all seemed to go downhill, and still she had no clue what she'd done wrong.

Felix didn't say anything to her response. He just started to walk off. "Goodbye," he said. It wasn't a friendly goodbye, nor a cold one, it was just plain. Felix clicked his case in his pocket, he was thinking about getting a lighter to go with it. His head raised he looked up at the sky wth a grin. Where was he going to stay tonight?

Serenity only looked up after Felix had walked out. She felt like crying, but didn't know why. She got up and opened the door, leaning against the doorway, her gaze on Felix. Suddenly she wondered if he had a place to stay. He was always staying at her house so....well, she kind of wondered if he really even had a place of his own. "Where are you sleeping tonight?" she asked him, voicing her thoughts. Her mortal side had been coming out a lot lately, for no apparent reason. This side was simply her voicing every thought that came into her head. If Felix had no place to go... What am I thinking? Letting him back in my house to stay! Stop being so stupid, he's just going to play with you again! she told herself angrily, but it didn't show on her face. Her expression was still blank and her eyes still glossed over. She felt exhausted, and more than that...even though it was a cold night, she felt very, very warm, despite the fact that she was only wearing a dress and no coat.

Felix kept walking but had to stop again as she asked him where he was sleeping tonight. He'd been gone for 4 months, why was she worried about him. Didn't he tell her to take care of herself before she tried to take care of someone else. "I don't know," he said. "I guess I'll go stay in a hotel or something." He was even considering staying at Stephen and Walker's place. He shuddered. Those two...

(haha, he shuddered)

Serenity looked off to the side as he said that he didn't know, maybe a hotel or something. "I suppose...if you don't have anywhere to go besides a hotel...you could stay here," she said the last part almost quietly. She didn't want Felix getting the wrong idea. It's not like she wanted him to stay permanently or anything like that...she was just a kind person was all....right? Serenity didn't look at Felix for his response. She wanted him to stay, but she didn't want to show it. She didn't know what she wanted right now... (sound familiar?)

Felix looked back at her. His eyes uncaring. "I can stay at Stephen and Walker's," he said. He didn't want to be around her. She might change her mind about him and he didn't want that. He just wanted to be alone. The four months had been kind and he was getting back to his old self. Missions and blood, and death and everything that he knew. And no one could hold him back and tell him no.

Serenity only looked at him for a moment after he answered, her blank expression saddening a little bit. "Alright then," she said with a shrug. "If you change your mind...the offer stands," she told him. She then turned around, her gaze on the ground. "Night," she said, before going to close the door behind her. What was holding her back? She thought she knew now. She was afraid of Felix hurting her again. The thing that hurt her most....was that Felix had intentionally played with her heart, her emotions, the one thing he knew she had no control over. She'd never thought him a cold-hearted person before that.

Felix walked away. Just when he was about to get somewhere the was a single drop of rain. Then it began to pour down. Felix looked up and blinked. "Perfect," he said sarcasticly. He didn't want to walk in the rain. He looked back at Serenity's house. The twins were still pretty far off, but he didn't want to go back asking Serenity a favor. He stood in the rain thinking.

Serenity had just went to shut the door, but right beforehand, she heard it start down pouring outside after only a second. She looked outside and blinked when she saw Felix standing in the rain. She then sighed and pulled an umbrella off the rack next to her door and opened it, going outside and walking over to Felix. She went to grab his arm to pull him in, but then pulled her hand back before even touching him, remembering what he'd said that day. "Stop being so stubborn and come in, you're gonig to catch cold," she told him.

Felix turned his head to the side to face her when she said that he should stop being stubborn. "I was debating," he said. Felix then saw her reach for his arm. He went to move away but she caught herself. "Fine," he told her and then started for the house. He didn't want to arguing with her, not today, not tomorrow, never. He should have just went to the house. Another mistake he thought tragicly. His clothes and hair dripping with the fresh rain.

Serenity allowed Felix to go into the house first, before she closed the unmbrella ouside the doorway and shook the water out of it, then closed it and put it back in it's spot by the door. She then turned to look at Felix. She hoped he wouldn't say anything about this. If he did, her response would be that it was her duty to make sure that all ninja of the crested were healthy. She could play that game too. But she couldn't help but wonder...if Felix was really as indifferent to her as he seemed? She then turned to look at Felix. "You can do whatever you normally would," she told him. "You're room upstairs is untouched as it was the last time you stayed here," she said. She tried to stifle a yawn, but it didn't work too well. "I'm going to be getting changed if you need me," she said to him in a blank tone as she started upstairs almost slowly. She was exhausted and her head was starting to hurt. She had cleaning to do after she changed. She'd treat Felix just like any other person who came into her home.

Felix went to say something but stopped. Instead he started upstairs. He didn't stop until he was upstairs in the bedroom. He closed the door and slipped his jacket off and tossed it on the bed. Going to the window he looked out of it. "I hate the rain." He turned away and went into the shower. When he came out he felt the same. Laying on the bed he closed his eyes, but couldn't sleep. Being at Serenity's house didn't feel the same, it felt wrong, very wrong.

Serenity hadn’t gotten any cleaning done at all. In fact as soon as Felix had gone upstairs to go to bed, she sat down on the couch, feeling rather faint. She figured by this point that she had to have been sick. It was probably just a fever, and would pass with a good night’s sleep. But instead of going upstairs to go to bed, Serenity had fallen asleep sitting on the couch, and after about half an hour laid down, pulling the blanket that was laid over the back of the couch over her. By the time it was morning, Serenity was in a cold sweat, having a nightmare. She was holding the blanket wrapped tightly around her, but still shivering slightly. It shown plainly on her face that she wasn’t having a good dream. “N…no…I’m…s..sorry…” she mumbled, turning slightly.

Felix had managed to to sleep that night. Waking up he showered and then picked up his bag and his jacket. He would not stay more than he had to. Walking down the stairs he saw her having a nightmare. He was willing to walk out and leave her there, caught in the dream. Felix wondered what it was like to dream, but from the looks of it, it didn't seem pleasant. Felix shrugged and walked over to her and tapped her twice. "You're having a nightmare," he said. That was good enough. He turned away and waited.

(drama time)

Serenity sat up quickly as Felix tapped her. She hadn't meant to, but as soon as she saw Felix, she let out a small scream and for a few seconds it looked like she was trying to move back from him, her eyes wide with fright. When she realized that she was only dreaming before, she put her hand to her chest to try and calm her breathing. "I...uh, I..." she went to apologize, but realized she had nothing really to apologize for. She hadn't realized it, but her eyes were teared up slightly, probably from the fear of the dream. "Excuse me," she said hurriedly, then jumped off the couch and ran into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

In the bathroom, Serenity turned on the sink and splashed her face with water. Then, turning off the water, Serenity laid her head in her hands and put her elbows on the sink, and started sobbing silently. How could she dream something like that? But....it'd seemed so real...She hated herself for it now. This was the first dream she'd had where it was more vivid than a vision, where she'd actually thought she was awake. She'd dreamed that it was the night before, and instead of simply telling Felix to come in, she'd grabbed his arm and tried to pull him in, like she was going to to begin with. When she had though, Felix had glared at her and in one move had pulled out a kunai and stabbed her in the stomach with it. She'd crumpled to the ground and Felix had simply looked at her, saying 'I told you. If you ever touched me again, I'd treat you just like any other enemy. You should've listened." Then he just left her there and left for Walker and Stephen's house. She had never been so terrified of Felix as she was the moment she woke up and saw him there. She felt so damn ashamed of herself, and hated herself so much. How could she let someone she feared that much into her house? And worse than that...how could she still be in love with someone she feared that much?

(OMG! This is getting intense)

Felix blinked and stepped back as Serenity started to scream and looked as if she was trying to move back. Felix didn't see why she was being that way, but when she got up and said excuse her he stood dumbfounded. Watching her leave he chose to leave the house but stopped knowing it was wrong to leave her like that. Dropping his stuff by the door he went to the bathroom door and knocked twice but didn't enter. "Um, are you okay?" He asked. He didn't want to go in because he didn't want her screaming again. The way she'd reacted made it seem like he was some kind of threat. He should have left her and her nightmares alone.

Serenity raised her head from her hands slightly as she heard two knocks on the door then heard Felix's voice asking if she was alright. She took a moment to answer so that she could regain herself. "Y-yeah, I'm fine," she said, then sighed. She dried her face off with a towel then went over to the door after making sure that it hadn't looked like she'd been crying. When she opened the door, she hadn't really expected Felix to be so close. "I apologize if I startled you," she said, her gaze down. She feared that if she looked directly at Felix then he'd see the fear in her eyes. What was wrong with her? She'd never feared Felix before, but now she was terrified of him, and with no reason for it.

Felix stepped back when she opened to door. He wanted to keep some distance between the two of them for obvious reasons. Serenity claimed to be okay, but Felix wasn't about to get involved with her personal problems, even if he unintentionally was already. "Thank you for the stay, I'll be leaving now," he said backing away. It was time for him to leave. He'd felt as if he'd over stayed his welcome. Fear, he couldn't feel it, but he'd seen it clear on Serenity face before she'd jumped off the couch. Did she fear him? How did he manage to do that? He'd never posed a threat to her, but she had seen the real side of him. And he did threaten her four months ago in the caves, but he hadn't meant it, not like that. It's better this way, he told himself.

Serenity's gaze unintentionally drifted up to Felix as he thanked her then said that he'd be leaving now. He was leaving already? She felt her heart sink slightly as he started backing away from her. "You wouldn't want to stay for breakfast, would you?" she asked, a hint of hopefulness in her voice. What in the hell is wrong with? You fear him, yet you keep inviting him to stay! Could you be any more moronic? she told herself. She didn't understand her feelings right now, but she knew that she wasn't really mad at Felix anymore. Her feelings were so scrambled right now that she didn't know what to do. She feared him, she loved him, but she didn't want him to leave, and she didn't want him to see that she didn't want him to leave, even though her efforts were obvious.

He didn't have an appetite, but he knew not eating after long periods of time wouldn't be very smart. Which he hadn't eaten in a while. Felix no long had an appetite, everything he ate tasted metallic and it made him not want to eat at all. He tried to find something that would atleast spark his taste buds but nothing worked. "Do you normally invite your guest to breakfast?" He asked turning the question around and using it against her.

Serenity only blinked and looked down when Felix asked her if she invited all her guests to stay. "I...not....all the time," she told him then looked off to the side. "I was trying to be polite," she told him, trying not to seem as if she really wanted him to stay, even though she did. She wondered just how much Felix really wanted to leave. She hoped it wasn't too much.
