He looked at her for a long moment. This was not at all fun. He wanted to know and she was teasing him. "Twelve or so years ago?" He thought back. Aiko was around that time, but if Jasper had married her, he wouldn't live to apologize for it. And neither would Aiko. Who else was there. He sighed. How annoying could this possibly get. "Serenity, tell me." He said sounding miserable. Though it was just an act.

Serenity gave a small, silent laugh at his expression. She nodded when he asked twelve years or so. She saw him thinking, and it seemed as if he would never get it. She almost felt bad about teasing him when she heard his voice. Almost. She smiled, but still only her eyes shown over her knees, her arms still wrapped about them. "Do you remember Rin?" she asked, her eyes shining with amusement, not the slightest thought that this perfect night was about to turn very very bad. (just guessing)

All jokes were dropped and all playfulness was gone when she asked him did he remember Rin. Something stirred deep within Felix. A hatred that he didn't think would ever come back once he'd come home. But what he'd just heard made him remember. His blue eyes turned icy and his silver hair slid into his eyes. There was a very dangerous air about him. "Rin, as in the Koto player?" He asked. His voice had changed. It was very low. Tomorrow the hunt was on again.

Serenity blinked and her smile faded at the sudden change in atmosphere. She started wondering what was wrong, but the look in Felix's eyes said everything. Oh no...god no, what did I just do... she thought, horrified at her own stupidity for not realizing it sooner. The enjoyment and laughing that had been shown in her eyes earlier was lost, replaced with a feeling of fear. She slid down next to Felix, her eyes pleading. "Y-yes, but please Felix, your mission is over, and she isn't hurting anyone," she pleaded. She felt horrible. She'd have to warn Jasper. But what would Felix do if he knew that she'd warned him? Would he abandon her and think of her as a traitor? After all, Jasper would only live a little while, Felix would be around forever, but even so... (I forget, is he sitting up?)

Felix's gave remained the same. Cold. He could feel his blood boiling. What Serenity said meant nothing to him. It didn't change the past. She may not have been hurting anyone, but she'd done enough damage, as had he. The Servents had killed countless people, they had to be put to a stop. Rin had been a kind girl, but that didn't mean he she wasn't dangerous. That's why they had been chosen. How did he know she wasn't carrying out Nathaniels dying wishes. Felix clenched his fist. He'd warned Jasper before he left, and that idiot had fallen for the one person who could cut his life line off without anyone ever knowing. "Damnit."

Serenity's gaze didn't change either. It still held fear and an utter disgust with herself. She swallowed as she saw Felix's hand clench and laid hers lightly on it. She knew she was being daring, and she absolutely hated having to calm Felix down, because whenever he was angry like this, it always made her scared, though she was positive he had no clue about it. "Felix, please calm down. What is killing her going to do? She hasn't done a single thing wrong since she's arrived here," she said, her eyes still pleading.

Felix slowly looked at her hand. He'd probably have knocked it away from his had he been a little less irrational than he was being. "Hasn't done anything wrong? Have you forgotten how she lured you away?" He asked. "How she and Tokine set up the hole plot. That she was in association with Nathaniel." Felix's voice was just as icy as his stare. He was in no mood to discuss this with her. He wasn't even staying the night anymore. He was going home.

Serenity only swallowed lightly when she saw him look at her hand. She fell silent when he reminded her of what had played out twelve years earlier. "No, I haven't forgotten, but...." her voice was quiet and trailed off a moment before she started again. "People..." She really hated using this line, but she believed it whole-heartedly. Otherwise she would've never stuck with Felix all these years. "People can change Felix," she said, finally bringing her gaze to look at him again, trying to hide the slight fear that shown in them. She hated when his voice and stare were like this, and hated it even more when it was directed at her. She was doing all she could to keep herself from shaking lightly. So far she found herself successful, but she didn't know how long she could keep it up. She was no different from everybody else, Felix's icy stare could strike fear into her. That didn't change just because she loved him.

Felix waited for her to speak. Her pausing inbetween sentences was making him impatient. When she finally got the words out he response was not light. "How's that working out for you?" He asked. When people said that others could change he always looked back on his life. He hadn't changed in his eyes. He'd given Serenity hell since the day he met her and he was still doing the same today. Right up until this very moment.

Serenity paused and looked down at his question. Didn't he think he'd changed? At all? She'd been seeing changes in him...or, perhaps, because she'd been wanting to believe he'd been changing....had she imagined those changes? "You don't think you've changed at all?" she asked, not bringing her gaze up to him, her shoulders dropping slightly. Had she really been imagining it? She didn't have anyone she could consult with on this either. Everyone who'd seen the true Felix was long dead, at least, that's what she thought. Although, she could always go ask Aiko.

Felix gave a harsh laugh. "Change? No one changes Serenity. They just play the part so they can get off without problems. But deep down inside, they're always the same person they were from the start." Felix was showing no sympathy. He was beyond pissed that Rin was alive, and even more that Jasper had married her, and to top it off Serenity hadn't told him about it. The night had turned sour. There was no day where there was peace.

Serenity's gaze didn't rise, and she took her hand off Felix's as he spoke, her eyes sad. Had he pretended that he changed, just so that...well, what was the point of it for him? To pretend to change because of her, he could've simply ignored her existence from the start, and she probably wouldn't have pursued him. He could've got off without problems by simply ignoring her, but if he did that now, there would be severe problems. She decided that it might be better if she didn't voice these concerns though. She felt hurt beyond belief to know that he thought of her as a problem. Serenity had nothing else to say. Pleading with him obviously wasn't going to work. He would be mad at her for a while after this, she knew it.

Felix's stood up as she removed her hand from his. He looked down at her. "Nothing to say?" He asked with a grin. He shrugged. "No matter." He turned to the door. "I'm going home." He didn't want to be here anymore. Felix's attitude could change far to quick. Little things set him off. Now he was just mad. Feeling ready to explode, but he was keeping most of it in for Serenity's sake. He walked to the door and opened it. "Good night."

Serenity's gaze didn't rise as he stood up and questioned her. She still remained silent when he said that he was going home, but only now she felt ready to cry. How had such a wonderful night turned so sour? How was it that she always single-handedly turned something so good, so bad? As she heard him open the door, she didn't look up, or get up, she barely even moved, but at least this time she spoke, even if it was only two words. "Good night," she said almost in a whisper. She didn't want him to leave, but...he needed to cool off, and that wasn't going to happen if he was still around her. When he left, she allowed herself to start shaking lightly, small tears flowing over as she pulled her knees to her chest again.
