She knew it. Of course it was all a hoax, how could she ever think that it wasn't? That was right, she didn't. Serenity watched a moment as he turned and walked away, without a word at his sorry. She went to turn and go back into her house, but she stopped, something hitting her. "Felix, why did you say 'kids'?" she asked, blinking. Didn't he mean kid? Did he know something that she didn't? Though she was a seer, she didn't know that she was having twins. And that being said, his statement had confused her. She wanted to know why he'd said it.

Felix stopped at the edge of the walkway. He'd had the same confused look on his face when Kyla had kept saying children. He'd never asked her about it, but he had a feeling she knew what she was talking about. He shrugged lightly. It'd stuck with him since then, so he hadn't meant to say kids. "Someone kept bringing up the plural form, it just stuck."

Serenity just looked at him when he said that someone had kept bringing it up in the plural form. Kyla. Was the only thing that came into her mind. Kyla was the only one that Felix ever talked with about personal matters, at least that she knew of. After a moment, Serenity sighed. "Would you like to come in?" she asked, her expression a bit sad, but other than that, blank. She didn't want to have any stress in her life for the next seven months, it would harm the children. Now why'd she go and think that...?

Felix looked at her, waiting for her to respond, but all she did was invite him in. He was wary about going back since she'd turned him away, but this was possibly a second chance. Felix looked to the side and then started towards her at a slow pace. His hands in his pocket and his eyes covered with his hair because he didn't want her to see how he was feeling.

Serenity watched Felix walk towards her at what seemed to be a crawling pace. But maybe it was just her being anxious. She almost said nevermind, but stopped herself. If she were to be true with herself, she'd realize that she didn't want him to stay. She wasn't angry with him, she didn't hate him, she simply didn't want him to stay. Because each day he stayed, she'd feel worse and worse about how stupid she'd been, worse and worse about how she'd hurt him, and more and more guilty because she could do nothing to fix it. When he finally came in, she closed the door behind him, but before turning around, closed her eyes and took a slow, deep breath in, and let it out just as slowly. She had to calm herself down. She was getting all worked up over nothing. And even though Felix couldn't see it, she was on the verge of breaking just seeing him now.

Something about him...no, everything about him seemed different to her. But she figured that since he'd gone to speak with Kyla...well, maybe the old woman had changed his mind. She wasn't sure. When she did turn to face him, the sadness was gone off her face, but there was something else there, something not as easy to define. She felt more guilty than she ever had before. Every time she looked at Felix, her hate of herself just grew more and more. "Can I get you anything?" she asked. She'd start off with the usual, because no matter who it was, Serenity had to be a good hostess. But after that, they had to talk. They seriously had to talk. Serenity gave a motion with her hand that quite clearly told Felix he could sit, before turning and hanging the phone back up on the hook next to the couch.

Felix walked inside and stood there, no bothering to take a seat. He shook his head no when she asked if he wanted anything. The only thing he wanted was for her to give him a chance, but what was the point in asking. She didn't believe him. When she motioned for him to sit he took a seat on the couch. Traveling to the stairs was useless. Everything felt so pointless. Every time he thought back to it he felt his chest tighten and he wanted to break down, but he couldn't. It was out of character for him. Kyla had sent him back into the snake pit, the question was, how would he get out unpoisoned?

Serenity didn't like that silence of his. It was, unnerving. And it was only serving to make her more anxious. Sitting down on one of the recliners rather than the couch, Serenity crossed her arms over her knees, her gaze down. She took a few moments to think of how she was going to phrase this. And when she did, it still didn't come out the way she'd wanted it to. "Why did you really come back?" And just like that, the 'serious' discussion had begun.

Did she just throw an accusation at him on the sly? Felix looked up at her. "Because I was wrong, it's my kid and I want to help raise it." It wasn't a very nice word, but he didn't want to say them and he didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. "I don't want them to have to grow up knowing their father was just a few blocks down the road and he didn't want to be in their life." Felix hadn't exactly grow up with a dad in his life. His father had died when he was three, so his memories of him where quite sketchy. So his mother was his world. He didn't want his kid going through the same thing he went through.

Serenity looked at Felix as he spoke, but regretted it as she saw that he was looking at her as well. And just like that her gaze dropped again. She almost sighed when he said that he didn't want them knowing their father was just a few blocks away. She wouldn't have told them that, for three reasons. One, she didn't want them hurt at the thought. Two, she didn't want the child trying to go and find Felix to question him on their own, and three, describing what had happened and the relationship between her and Felix would be painful for her to say, and for the child to hear. Sure it was wrong to lie to them about their father, but it would be for their own good. She finally brought her gaze up to look at him, but it almost seemed to shy away from him again, though she managed to avoid that and keep her gaze on him. Yes, it was true, she could barely even stand to look at him. But it wasn't like that was his fault. "And...you mean this?" she asked, not with a hopeful tone like one would expect, but with a cautious tone, almost suspicious, but not quite to that level. She seemed to be deciding whether or not to allow herself to open up to him again.

It was official. His entire soul had just been crushed as she asked him if he was sure. Why did she have to sound so cautious with it? He didn't want to come walk down the road one day and see his kid with so guy that wasn't him. He didn't want his kid to grow up like Shaira had. He didn't want to wake up everyday knowing that he could have stepped in at any moment and been there for them. Why couldn't she just believe him? Felix's gaze dropped away from her and he nodded. "Yes." What he wanted to say was 'Do you not want me to be apart of their life the reason you keep trying to turn me away. Do you expect me to walk away and leave you to bear this burden alone?' The thought made him sick.

It was...much harder than she thought it'd be, to keep her gaze on Felix. This was probably the most solemn conversation they'd ever had, and the subject was...something that Serenity had never thought would happen. Well, she'd hoped it would happen one day, but...not like this. She'd wanted it to be him, not...not some goddamned imposter. When he said yes, for a moment it looked like Serenity had been about to cry, but instead, she gave a light smile. "Good. I didn't want o...our child to grow up without a father either," she said, stuttering once on that one, singular word. It felt incredibly awkward for her to say that. Especially after all that had happened.

Felix didn't say anything when she said good. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know if she was just saying that so that so that he wouldn't feel bad, or if she was saying that because she didn't want to bear it alone. He kept looking to the floor. Did she trust him? How would they work this out? Would he have to stay at her house now? Or her at his? He didn't want to think about it right now.

Serenity was starting to get annoyed with this silence. She didn't like it. And what was more, this wasn't their usual 'we're just not talking because we have nothing to say' silence. This was a 'well this is effing awkward because we're discussing a kid that is and is not his' kind of silence. And on top of that, the silence wasn't because Serenity was upset, it was because Felix was. And that was what killed her most. Already knowing that the answer to her next question was a negative, she decided to ask anyways. "Are...you okay Felix?" Her gaze was still on him, but once more she was starting to get anxious which was resulting in her starting to feel a bit sick.

Felix glanced up. "I'm fine," he said. "Just thinking is all." He kind of wanted to get up and go home and sleep this off. Maybe wake up the next day and see it was all a bad dream. But life didn't work like that. This wasn't some fairy-tale. This was real life. He was going to be a dad in a few months. "Thoughts of any names yet?" He asked just so she would stop worrying about him. She had enough to worry about and he shouldn't be on the list.

(Yeah, well unfortunately, she's gonna be worrying about him for a loonnnngggg time to come.)

Serenity only nodded lightly as he said that he was just thinking. He probably had a lot to think about. She knew that he'd left the Crested, had gotten a transfer in preparation for leaving for good. She blinked when he asked if she had thought of any names. "Yeah...Kiara if it's a girl, Isaac if it's a boy..." she said. She then looked down. "Did you get your papers to transfer back to the Crested..?" she decided to ask. Why shouldn't she ask? If he wanted to know how she knew, a friend of hers in a higher up position in the Crested had told her. After all, that was really what had happened. She didn't care to look into what Felix was doing after that night. She'd told herself that she was done with him as well, that she couldn't face him. Tears welled lightly in her eyes, giving them a light shine, and she immediately looked down. She wouldn't cry in front of him. But every time she looked at him, she was reminded of how she'd hurt him, and it constantly made her want to cry. She couldn't avoid looking at him forever, he'd notice eventually.

He'd already noticed and it was just killing him even more himself. He wasn't going to say it though. "Those are nice," he said quietly. He didn't know how she knew about his transfer but it was no secret so there was no point in lying about it. "I haven't turned them in," he answered. "I came straight here." Felix fell silent. His blue eyes blank as he sat there in the most uncomfortable situation ever.

This was becoming too much. The silence, the way he spoke, the anxiety, it was all going to Serenity's head way faster than she'd anticipated. She couldn't even look at him without tearing up! How was she supposed to live with him and raise their kid without feeling guilty and hating herself every second of every day? She couldn't take this. She barely even heard what he said when he told her that he'd come straight there before she felt that it would only be a moment before the tears spilled over. She quickly got up and started towards the bathroom. "Excuse me," she said quickly, trying to hide the tears that ran down her face only a moment before she passed by him. When she got to the bathroom, she closed the door and actually locked it behind her, sitting down in the corner almost immediately and started crying. She couldn't take this, she couldn't even bare it for one day, let alone for their child's lifetime! Granted, the thing about the lock on her bathroom door was that it was one of those ones that you could open with a butter knife or a coin...or a kunai.

Felix looked up when she got up and ran off. Speechless. Was she breaking down? That was obvious, but why was she breaking down? Was it something he'd done? Felix got up from the couch and walked to the bathroom. "Serenity?" He looked at the door. He could get it, but he wouldn't. He didn't want to see her crying. "Are you okay?" He asked. He tried the door. Locked. He looked at the door. "Serenity, please open the door and talk to me." He wasn't begging, but he made it clear he was worried about her.

Serenity didn't answer when he called her, or asked if she was okay. She found herself incapable of speaking right now, she could barely even catch her breath. It's not like she was hyperventilating or anything, she just couldn't stop herself from crying. I can't take it...I can't live with him for a hundred years and just pretend everything's okay! Not after how I hurt him... she thought, which only fueled on her tears. When she heard Felix ask for her to come out and talk to him, all she could do was bring her knees up to her chest, lay her elbows on her knees, and wrap her hands over her head while it was buried in her elbows. She couldn't stand it, hearing his voice, seeing his face, all of it reminded her of what she'd done, of how stupid she'd been.

That was it, he was going in. She wasn't coming out, so what else could he do? Stand there and act as though he wasn't dead worried about her? He pulled a kunai from his pocket and slipped it into the spot so he could open the door. He clicked it up and pushed the door lightly. He walked into the bathroom and saw her crying on the floor. Slowly he approached her and bent down to face her. He rubbed the top of her hair. "You know that's not good for the baby." He then gave her a hug. "We'll make it work," he promised. "But you've have to stop crying. Stressing yourself out won't make it any better." He looked at her and shook his head lightly. "Please."

Serenity hadn't heard the door open and the only reason she knew he was approaching her was because she'd heard his footsteps. Had he unlocked the door? Or had she forgot to lock it? And even though she knew it was true that it wasn't good for the baby, she couldn't stop herself. She was just too damn emotional for her own good. She almost gave a small gasp as Felix hugged her, but instead, just sort of froze in place. This didn't seem like her Felix. And all over again she started doubting herself. What if Felix had gone back to D.K.? It'd been enough time, right? No, wait, the full moon was three days from now, this had to be Felix. Trying to keep herself from crying wasn't easy though. She even gave a few small hiccups before she ended up sniffling, and though the tears hadn't stopped flowing quite yet, she seemed a bit calmer. She wanted to hug him back, but she was terrified of doing so, but she didn't know why. When she looked at him, she almost started crying all over again. "I'm sorry Felix, I-I'm so sorry," she said, her voice thick with the effort of keeping herself from crying. It was all she could say. In her mind, she couldn't apologize enough for what she'd put him through.

Felix shook his head. "No, don't be sorry," he said. "Just forget it ever happened." His blue eyes were still blank, only because he didn't know what else to do. He then held out his hand to help her up. "Come on," he said. "Sitting in the bathroom all day is going to start getting weirder than it already is." He held a small grin on his face.

Serenity slowly wiped the tears from her eyes, though they were only replaced with new ones. She looked at him when he said to forget it ever happened. How in the hell was she supposed to do that, just ignore the fact that she had a baby in her stomach? Oh yeah, that would be reeeaaall easy! Of course, those thoughts came and went, and were replaced with more feelings of guilt. When he held out his hand to her to help her up, she paused a moment before taking it, and without a moments hesitation, suddenly hugged onto Felix tightly, fresh tears starting once more, though she wasn't actually crying. It was more like the tears were flowing of their own accord. She didn't know why she'd hugged him, but for some odd reason, it had made her feel better. This wasn't actually all one really bad nightmare, though she wanted it to be.

Felix was surprised when she suddenly hugged him. He wasn't sure if that was because she needed a shoulder to cry on or if she just wanted to cry without him saying anything about it. He gave up on figuring it out and patted her on the back. "It'll be okay." He told her. It would be, he'd make sure of it. He'd do all he could to make her life better . He'd do all he could to make sure she was happy. He didn't want her to be stressed out and something happen to their kid. He suddenly got to thinking, maybe he should take forget about turning in his transfer papers for the time being. He should stay home with her until the kid could go off on its own. Yeah, but would he be able to ignore his natural need to throw himself into danger? This could pose as a problem.

Serenity was definitely starting to feel better about this. Felix seemed adamant to make this work, and she so badly wanted it to. After a few moments, she finally pulled back, the tears finally stopped flowing and she actually had a small smile on her face. "Th-thank you for coming back Felix," she said, the tone of her voice saying obviously she was feeling better. She looked around. "We...probably should get out of the bathroom," she said, agreeing with his earlier statement with the same light smile.
